How to sell art fast and for high prices online?

How can an unknown artist sell a collection of hand-drawn, very good charcoal drawings for at least $500 each? Preferably selling through fine art websites like Fine Art America or my own website (NO Ebay or Craigslist due to the prevalence of scam buyers on those sites)?

I don't want to price my art at $500 each and have them just sit there for a long time...I'd like for each piece to sell within a month, if not sooner. Thank you.

Good Lord -- You won't find a solution to that problem here! You need an agent -- plain and simple. That's it. End of Story. Good Luck.

You can use YouTube to create video and promote your own personal brand. It is the most effective source to promote your products.

You've answered your own question - haven't you? Research what you have to do to have your artwork listed on Fine Art America and similar sites.

I can tell you, without question, you will have an uphill battle is you're asking advice about selling fine art at a general Internet Marketing forum. People here won't have a clue. Why don't you see if you can get help at a "fine art forum" where other artists with selling experience might help you.

Over the years there have been a number of artists, photographers, sculptors etc . . . creative types . . . come to this forum seeking selling and marketing help. I can tell you that you need very specialized assistance from those who have been successful at doing what you want.

    The best to you,

    Steve

Find someone on Craigslist not to buy your products but to sell them - not here.

Even better, find real world sales person to do it for you.

You can check these sites too - if you haven't:

You can also start with selling giclee prints on eBay...

If people like the giclee prints, then they have to pay premium for the original artwork. You can sell it from your own site, at eBay or your eBay store.

I'll be the very first to admit I know next to nothing about fine art.

However, I think I can pretty accurately say that an unknown artist is going to have one hell
of a time selling anything for $500 right out of the gate.

    Best of luck to you.

We have a very big art scene here where I live. The best way to start selling your art is to have shows. Rent a venue, display your art, serve drinks, get a band etc. Advertise the hell out of the show.

Next step is to find local art galleries, bars, stores etc that are willing to display some of your art and give them a commission on each sold.

Once you have several shows under your belt, start getting prints made of some of your pieces and sell them online for a fraction of what you would sell the original for.

If you can't put on a show, find other local artists and make friends with them. Then you could discuss working together on putting on joint shows to reduce the cost.

Somehow I don't believe this is anywhere near what the OP has in mind.

      Just sayin' . . . . . .

I know Etsy is popular for selling artwork. You could also try the new marketplace that is in beta called OpenBazaar.
