Spam traffic galore. What is one to do?

I already blocked them with filters and referral exclusion list in analytics but some are still seeping through.......how can I fight this?

It is ruining my unique data in analytics

Many are ghost referrals and inject in GA servers directly - .htaccess and WP blocking addons will be ineffective.

One of the most annoying crawling bot is that of semalt.com or best-seo-report.com. I was successful blocking their being reported by analytics just by going to their page here semalt.com/project_crawler.php

Yeah, this is really one of those things you're going to spend more time and effort on than benefits you or your website. They are notoriously hard to fight and really they aren't detrimental to anything but your analytics. You'd be better off spending that time on other aspects of your site.

If it really bothers you, you can set up some filters in GA to hide them.
