I'm curious...why would you need resources to create a portfolio? Just build a basic site, link to your work and that's it- you have a portfolio.

The rest of your sentence leads me to believe that you don't have any clients though or any skills to freelance with, so that should be your initial focus. And for us to know what to recommend to you, we'd have to know what you want to do as a freelancer.

So the answer to your question (if we can call it that) is that there is no answer. We have no idea how you can get clients and make money with the info you provided.

It's hard, sometimes you can have great contracts and sometimes nothing. I lived a great life wondering the world, laptop in rucksack for a few years. That;s when my contracts were concrete.

Now when you lose those contracts for any reason you have a major problem. Why I am trying to get into IM again. Maybe start small in your local area and see what feedback you get?

But to be freelance, it's a good idea to specialise. All the best.

As others have said or inferred you just need to go about creating new websites or blogs one by one.

It is so easy to do . You can google to figure that out.

And just start creating to build your Portfolio

Before diving into freelancing, check for any services that you can provide e.g. your skills, talents, knowledge, etc. There are several sites that provide jobs to freelancers like elance.com, odesk.com, iwriter.com, and even fiverr if you like doing jobs for $5 per job. The most highly in-demand skills to survive with freelancing is programming, web design, graphic design, writing articles, and many others.

What you do to get started depends largely on what services you want to provide and who you want to offer them to.

Can you give us some more details on this so we can offer specific advice?
