Think outside the Box to make Your Million Dollars :)

Well, the good news with some hard work most of you guys in here do not have to think outside the box to make some decent money in IM ( maybe not a million dollars though lol)

In this game you do not have to reinvent the wheel to be successful. You can follow some of the proven systems and trailblazers and put your own spin on it.

But for a certain number of you, the ones who want to be the actual trailblazers , you might want to take time and use your creativity and think outside the box to make that money.

I enjoy bringing this guy up every now and then. I got to know him some over the years through the Forum.

He is a Member here who at one time was making about $10k a day selling his E-book called "The Rich Jerk" . Using his creativity , he highlighted this fictional ,obnoxious, dirty old rich guy lol

I know many of you have heard of him but like I said I think it is a good study for some of the newer people here on the power of using your imagination and going away from the herd

Remember, thinking outside of the box doesn't always pay off or guarantee riches but you never know when it will unless you at least try

Here is one of his commercials back in the day . He spent upward of 150K to produce each one.

I agree completely, you don't need to think outside of the box really. Just take a known working method and run with it. Proper testing and scaling.. Etc Etc

Yeah, I tried to think outside of the box a few times before. And I got completely locked out of the box.

I've done some thinking outside the box that I never thought of before.

Today I got on a train, then another train, and I went to meet somebody and talk about IM - in real life!!!!

The guy wanted to talk to me about an idea he had in a niche I'm also in. We had a coffee, chewed over ideas and something big is in the design stage. The difference is that this guy has a REAL bricks and mortar building in this niche - I went inside it!

So don't sit in front of your computer all day - get out and talk to people!

$150,000 per video is a higher per-minute budget than many Hollywood films of the period (obviously not the blockbusters).

To expand on my previous post....

That video was posted to YouTube in 2007. May have been released earlier, I don't recall. But look at the top movies from 2007: 2007 Yearly Box Office Results - Box Office Mojo

Juno was one of the top films that didn't have a blockbuster budget. Wiki says $6.5 million. 1hr 36min long. That's $1,128.47 per second.

The Rich Jerk video in this thread is 1min 18sec. At $150,000 that's $1,923.07 per second.

    Juno: $1,128.47
    TRJ: $1,923.07

I sure smell something, and it isn't TRJ's money...

    Cheesy or not, it worked

That was part of the trend that transformed IM from a mere collection of information that taught people how to actually DO STUFF so they can earn into something else...

    What did it turn into?

A marketing 'system' that promised 'secrets' for quick cash.

Yeah it was major cheesy lol

      But sometimes cheesy can work

Most gimmicky type things have a short span of success.

For the number of gimmicks that hit a million dollars there are probably 10,000 that make squat.

      Not good odds.

Also, thinking outside the box does NOT always involve gimmicks. Keep that in Mind

For example it has been argued that Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckenberg and other IM mega- entrepreneurs were high thinkers outside the traditional modes.

I don't think that "thinking outside the box" has anything to do with it in the grand scheme of things. Sure, it helps to draw in more leads and it makes you more interesting, but neither of those things really matter if your product stinks. That's what it all comes down to- can you deliver something that people will buy and get excited about? Will they tell others how lucky they were to find you? That's what really matters.

In every business I've ever owned or run, my focus was always 100% on pleasing my customers. As long as you're going above any beyond in every possible way, people will recognize that and go out of their way to help you. This SHOULD apply to internet marketing as well but sadly, it rarely does these days.

At the same time though, look at all the 6 and 7 figure online earners here. Chances are pretty good that most of them are not using a gimmick to drive traffic and ultimately sell.

I'm with KKO7 about focusing on the customer. Ultimately, at the end of the day, if you don't get a customer to buy what you're selling, you ain't gonna make no money.

"Thinking outside of the box" to me means to look at something and make it more useful and valuable. Saves time, space, etc.

Like the Hurricane Mop. People have been mopping floors for decades. Mop and bucket and water. You had to wring the mop by hand.

Then, they had those industrial buckets that you used a handle to squeeze the mop. Hands not needed to wring the mop. Heavy to empty the water and clean.

Now, the Hurricane mop spins the mop in the water to release whatever the mop picked up and then has a separate area to spin the mop dry!! And the bucket is light enough to empty. Cuts time down to get the job done. Nice,

Maybe one day they will figure out how to have the water you spin the mop in change itself in some miraculous way.

Anyway, the point is to look at the problem from the eyes of the customer and how to get something done quicker, faster, easier and do it honestly. Give customers more in use value than the cash value we are asking.

    Just sharing.
