Best place to sell a video course without customers downloading it?

Hey all, I run a website related to dating & relationship advice and due to demand I'm making a video course. It will be around 12 videos in length. I would like to sell it via my website, but in order to combat piracy I would prefer that people who buy it cannot download the videos but only view them online.

With that in mind, can anyone suggest a good place to sell videos without them being able to be downloaded? It would be best if the user is automatically given a unique password after they purchase, then they can log in and view the videos, as this will prevent them sharing the password with other people who just want to get access for free.

Also, I want to sell the videos via a site that doesn't take too much commission.

I have Googled this and only found sites that let you sell downloadable video.

Thanks.

I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you but if people really want to steal your stuff, they will

That's the harsh reality of our times.

Indeed, there are tons of blackhat dumps on the Net that quickly rip and distribute IM and niche content in the form of video, software, books, guides, etc.

    It's a neverending arms race

Focus instead of building a LOYAL COMMUNITY around your video content and you should be fine.

To do this, you need to establish a SOLID BRAND.

To get there, you need to give people a reason to TRUST you.

Yeah that's true. Well my site has been running over 2 years now and I've been gradually building a list by giving away a free ebook and building a loyal following with regular, quality blog posts.

I sell a second ebook on my site also and have a small but loyal following. Many of my followers have requested a video product, which I should be able to sell to a lot of them, I just don't want people to file share my material or upload it online that's all, so a password protected area to view the videos with no download should get round this problem. But if people can do that blackhat stuff maybe I should forget that and just let them download the videos after they purchase.

If your stuff is any good, count on it being shared.

I wish it were otherwise but that's the reality we live in.

People won't share stuff that doesn't work because it isn't worth sharing.

People buy accounts, get access, leech off the videos/content, then REFUND.

The worst ones do CHARGEBACKS so your payment processor takes heat and when the stuff rolls downhill you get hit ... hard.

        This isn't new.

Adult sites have been dealing with this since forever.

However, now the same practices have been rampant in the 'underground' IM community.

The better approach would be to use the rampant piracy to SEED people's minds with your BRAND.

A solid BRAND is hard to pirate into oblivion.

There will be enough hooks to propel the next launch to profits.

The thing is, always expect to lose a % of your total potential profits to leechers.

Check out Udemy or other online course marketplace. You'll sell the course, not the videos.

I would not worry about people downloading the videos. It's going to happen no matter how you try to protect them.

There are a ton of browser plugins that do nothing but download imbedded videos.

Also if some miracle happened and someone came up with a way to prevent video download it still will happen. A person could simply fire up a screen recorder and then play the video. Now they just recorded a copy of it.

So instead, try to monetize the videos some way. Maybe referencing something on your blog. Do not password protect that page. You want the people viewing the stolen videos to have access to it. Then have ads relative to the content on the page of course. Possibly some CPM ads too.
