What are the main needs of a profitable internet business?

    You are focusing on the mechanics of an Internet business. The mechanics vary, depending on the type of business. A site selling IM products would need different components than, say, one selling women's clothes.

    Having the right mechanics is certainly essential, but a successful business has to offer something, quality products or services, that people want, and to be able to offer it in a way that separates you from the competition. Of course, having good business skills helps, as well as patience, persistence, and good energy.

    Yes, you should be more specific.....
    Anyway, what is missing? The most important of all - MARKETING. You may have the best website in the world and the most advanced autoresponder system in the planet but without TRAFFIC (signups, lists, visitors, etc.) Your internet business is as good as a dead wood.

    The main idea will be around you capturing leads into your autoresponder. If you sale products on your site that are your products you want to get their email after ever sale. If you are selling other peoples product as an affiliate you want some type of sign up form listed on your site to get their email. You would probably need to do seo on your site to get organic traffic coming in from the search engines.You can also use paid traffic and push traffic to a squeeze page since you have an atuoresponder.

    I agree with others..definitely not specific enough. Good to hear you have a logo though

    Since it sounds like you're building a list within a certain niche just remember a few things:

    Help people
    Don't let yourself get distracted by other projects
    Be passionate

    Start building a strategy of how you're going to generate visitors then optimize to what's working and keep going.

    3 things you need: Traffic, Leads and using your autoresponder and skills to convert those leads into sales. If you don't have any results yet, I don't recommend building a system yet. It would take up a lot of time, money and effort. If you really want to succeed, invest in yourself first, educate yourself and start implementing. There's more to systems than traffic, leads and sales. There's funnels, videos, sales copy, etc.

    Targetted Traffic + autoresponder + Marketing (Copyright to write a good sale page)

    Traffic: learn how to manage a PPC campaign (Facebook, AdWords, Bing......)

    Autoresponder: usefull to increase convertions, use mailchimp, awaber or getresponse (my favourite)

    The main mistake most people make starting a new business, is that they get the priorities the wrong way around, like I did when I started.

    You wouldn't go and commit yourself to a 5 year lease on a vacant high street store unless you already had some plans in place. You would know what products you wanted to sell, where you could buy them cheaply, and you would research the market first to find out if people wanted what you were going to try and sell to them.

    You would look at the competition in the area and put money aside to advertise and promote the launch of your new business. The press would be there when you opened, and a celebrity would be opening your great new store.

    What I am saying is that internet marketing is exactly the same. Don't imagine you can open a website without doing most of the above things first. You will probably fail just like the 98% of online marketers who start a 'business'. I'm not trying to put you off or get negative - it's true.

    I expect any established and experienced marketers on WF will endorse what I say. Of course people start off with no idea and get a lucky break - but they are the exception rather than the rule. So know what you want to achieve before you spend the money guys...

    Firstly You must have the website. It is the pre-requisition of the IM section. If one wants to work in the IM section one need to buy Domain & Hosting. Without the Own Domain & hosting, one will not be able to success in his life.

      You are all over the place.

      What type of product? Are you a vendor? An affiliate? How are you getting traffic? What is your ROI? Do you have a sales funnel? What are your upsells? What are your down sells?

      See where I'm going? You have to explain either what you're doing, or what you want to be doing. The more detail the better.

      Since your first post listed a logo, auto responder and something else as the necessary steps, I'm assuming you're not making sales.

    The type of product is basically marketing services, i am the vendor, no affiliates, i'm digging through facebook for leads, my ROI if these deals go through about $200, i have a sales process, not a funnel, i dont have any Upsells (Good idea), I don't have any downsells.

    I realize im looking at this from the sales end not the marketing end, and i dont wan't to reveal too much, thats why i havent really been specific lol

    I guess my next bet is to generate traffic, build relationships, and invest in myself to get to the next level

      Fix your funnel before you waste your time/money sending leads to you sales page.

      1. Lead magnet (typically a free product that provides value and solves some problem your target has that gets them to opt-in to future updates, info and offers from you)
      2. Identify buyers. Typically a cheaper product from $7-50, that helps you split your "leads" and your "buyers"
      3. Product. $50-1000 that's priced based on value. The more value you provide, and the bigger problem you solve, the higher the cost. Find out what people will spend for optimum ROI by testing.
      4. Money maker product. $1000-5000 product and upsell. Provide huge value and solve major issues.
      5. Take a shot. $10,000+ product. Over deliver.

      Find out what your average ROI is for a "lead" and a "buyer". Then you'll know how much you can spend on a "lead" and still be profitable. Ie. You're average "lead" generates you $5. You can spend up to $4 or so and still make a profit. Then you can scale your "leads" very quickly and generate more sales.

      Focus on upsells and down sells around your product that ranges from $97-1000. How can you add more value? Coaching, forum, installation, longer service, etc.

      If someone leaves your page, maybe they'll buy part of what your selling for half price? Or a different price. Will they give you their money? That's what you want to know.

      Then I always throw in a subscription for $37-97 per month depending on what's offered.

      Never give someone just one shot to buy from you or you will leave a ton of money on the table.

    Those aren't main needs, those are addons, a business can still bank without those things.

    A main need would be sales, conversions, business contacts...

    A way to gather leads, sell your product (s), follow up with leads / customers, and track numbers.

    For me it's...

    Clickfunnels, Aweber, and Improvely.

    Doing webinars helps as well, which ClickFunnels solves...

    Or you can look to stealth seminar for automated webinars.

    The main 'needs' of a profitable internet business is a successful internet marketer.

    A successful marketer knows how to:

    1- Create Traffic

    2- Capture Leads

    3- Convert all that stuff.

    There are too many things to cover in just one post.

    Here's some advice...

    Start with (1) traffic method. Learn it. And 'Master' it.

    Even if you are a vendor. Without traffic, your website, logo and autoresponder are 'dead' in the water.
