anyone here use wordpress to run a website company?

I ask this question using the phrase 'website company' rather than webn design, for fear of people shouting that using wp is not web design. But i mean, wp templates would suit many offline companies wanting to have web presence, cake makers, plasterers, mechanics...the list goes on.

I have put together 2 sites for offline companies, but using free themes and this is limited. I have considered purchasing thesis and it seems good...but anyone here run a company offering websites, and using wordpress only? If so can you recommend a theme that i can use or purchase, and put my company name to?

Any experience of this or pointers would be muchly apprecciated

    Uh... Thesis is only a theme powered by Wordpress.

    Yes, there's a bazillion businesses running Wordpress.

      Out of every 100 domains registered in the U.S., 22 of them will be run on WordPress. I used to code my pages but moved over to joomla and thought it was great. Then to Wordpress and thought "why didn't I do this earlier" I only use wordpress in my business now.

    I create sites for clients, and I use only WordPress. I haven't tried Thesis, though have heard good things about it, but it seemed too much like a blank slate for me, when I wanted to build on somebody's already-existing theme.

    But then, when I got a client, I would search for a theme - free or paid - that I thought could make a good site for them. But I ended up having to master too many themes, all of which have different specs (say, for header or slider image sizes) and different customization processes. That got overwhelming.

    So what I've done is narrow down to a few very good-looking, highly-flexible themes that allow for just about any type of site, and I'm mastering the ins and outs of those.

    Maybe using Thesis or something like it would be even better, because then you only have to learn the one theme.

    Hope that helps, without pointing you to any specific themes.

      Yes this is what I was aiming for. I am a bit fed up of learning new themes in terms of their individual tweaks etc and would much prefer to find just one or two that are highly flexible and am happy to pay for such a theme...i am guessing that there are many out there that are flexible, and have also heard good things about thesis theme so was hoping to hear if anyone simply uses this....or even any really that someone may just stick to.

    I recently read an article that stated WordPress powers about 23% of the web. So yea, there are a lot of business websites using WordPress.
