Wanting to Get Started

I want to get started making money on the Internet.

I've been looking up articles finding out more about copywriting and sales copy.

I want to get started writing in general. I've looked on Upwork, Reddit, and other sources.

Also I'm learning Python a great language. I'm finding it very fun.

I made a personal website because I thought I should have one. chrisfoose.com

Can anyone give good advice to get started?

Get into product creation and make your own brand. You can take advantage of your personal website to promote your brand. As you've mentioned about your interest in 'writing', start creating blogs or even books and some essential contents that can attract audience or create noise. It will be a long journey in a long and winding road but at the end of the day, it pays and you'll enjoy it. GOODLUCK!

There are some PLR packs out there where you can start promoting a business straight away and you'll gain some very valuable experience.

Build brand awareness, lead generation, and then some customer retention

What's your focus? You said that you'd like to get started writing in general. Do you mean you want to write copy and sales materials, or something different?

Python is a good language to learn. You can freelance, if that's something you enjoy.

We can probably be more helpful if you explain exactly what you're looking for.

People will point you to product creation, or learning marketing by offering PLR products or doing affiliate marketing, to start with. Both are fine places to start if they interest you. (I've watched my wife learn IM through affiliate marketing, first with simple ads and then building websites that promoted someone else's products. That helped her polish her copywriting skills.)

Mostly you need to focus on one thing and learn that. If you explain what that one thing is, we can probably give you better advice.

No matter what, congratulations for making this first step, or lots of first steps, from what you've said.

    Good luck!

Select a hot niche that you want to work in , then build a list of hungry buyers via squeeze pages and autoresponder by giving away a PLR high quality product for free, then feed your list of hungry subscribers with products ( your own or affiliate ) making handsome money in the process. When your list of subscribers grow to 1000 or more , get into the solo ad business for lifetime recurring profits ..

Spend ONE day, go through this forum and the sub forums. You will get all kinds of advice and many OPINIONS on what is the "best", "fastest" and "easiest" way to make money on the Internet.

    Take notes.

And take notes of the "I've been at it 5 years and haven't made a dime" threads too.

ONE day, and you may learn something....perhaps:

There is NO best, fastest or easiest way to make money.
You won't get paid for doing nothing.
Much advice is anecdotal based upon personal experience, which you may or may NOT be able to replicate.
You need SOMETHING to sell to someone, somewhere. It could be a product or service. OR, expertise which you can apply.

Read about the guys who have lost thousands on Forex, MLM, and IM. Read about the 100k a year Warrior who dropped to a few thousand dollars because of a google change.

Then consider the REAL world. An Associates Degree takes up to two years to acquire. A four year college degree costs thousands of dollars.

Real world = time and/or money or both.

Here is a PLAN for you, ONE year.

30 days, read all the possibilities while studying LIST BUILDING.
Next month, study AUTORESPONDERS and landing pages.
    Next month study affiliate marketing.

Fourth month, try to apply what you've learned so far. Set up a squeeze page for an affiliate product and start building a list.

Month 5, study and immerse yourself in SEO.
Month 6, study all analytics programs so you know what is happening with your list and web site.

    Month 7 study social media.

Month 8, FOCUS. Which should be the starting point of what you want.

The guys with 3, 4 and 5 years of frustration started like you, wanting to make some money, rather than having a goal and a plan which fits their lifestyle and desires.

The reason a person usually gets fast results is because the choice of activity was a good fit in the beginning. Wanting to make money on the Internet is like asking a travel agent to give you a ticket to paradise. Unless your agent is Eddie Money, they will be baffled by your request.

Spend a few days, read study and ask YOURSELF questions
    ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT AND
WHY AND WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO DO
AND THE AMOUNT OF TIME YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND.

Get a good grasp of YOU, and then the Internet money thing gets a lot easier.

1a. Decide what to sell. No product = nothing to market. So your focus should be choosing which niche to go into. Make sure it's something of interest to you, but also profitable.
1b. Decide exactly what to sell. Is it going to be your own product or someone else's?
    If someone else's...See 2.
    If your own...See 3.

    2. Choose products from an affiliate network, CPA network, etc, and start marketing them with affiliate marketing. There are a variety of ways to do this, but it usually consists of a website, email list and drunning up traffic to the sites selling the afore-mentioned products.

    3. You must create the product first, then find a platform to sell it on. Often consists of the tools needed in (2) as well. Harder work, but greater profit potential. Instead of getting a cut of someone else's bottom line (as an affiliate), you are finding affiliates and giving them a cut of your profits.

    4. To learn about any and all of the above, use the best resource on the Warrior Forum.

This is the #1 most frequently asked question on Warrior Forum, hands downs. Spend some time with the forum's search function looking for this exact question. Spend a couple hundred hours reading those threads, and you'll start to draw your own conclusions on what direction appeals to you.

It seems you are a complete newbie at making an earning online and pretty confused too. I can understand as I was in that place once.

In my opinion, one of the BIGGEST reason why people can't make it online is that there are ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND ONE method of making money online! Yes, there are lots of them.

There's CPA, there's Flippa, there's Freelancing, there's Affiliate Marketing, there's Clickbank, there's Fiverr, there's social media methods, and so on and so forth!

So a newbie completely gets confused. He can't figure out which method he should dive into and he doesn't know which method works best.

I had been confused for about 10 months of searching and searching and learning and it was only after all that that I discovered that there were 2 BEST METHODS of making money online as follows:

    1. PRODUCT CREATION (Selling your own product)
    2. AFFILIATE MARKETING (Selling someone else's product)

Now the product can be a PHYSICAL PRODUCT or a DIGITAL PRODUCT (e.g. an Ebook, or a Video Course, etc), but DIGITAL PRODUCTS have an edge over Physical Products as there's no shipping costs, etc. so not much investment required.

Once you figure out that you need to create your own product, or sell someone else's 50% of the problem is solved.

But then the other 50% involves the following things:
    1. Niche selection or Niche research.
    2. How to actually create a product (The technical things as well as psychological things)
    3. How to create the Sales Letter/Sales Page (One of the most important things in selling)
    4. How to setup the Payment systems.
    5. AND THE BIG ONE >>> How to bring Traffic to the offers!!!

So basically as you can see, there's a lot that a newbie has to face and cover and it's not that easy. That is why almost 95% of people who try there luck to make a dime online don't succeed!!!

    ONE LAST ADVICE:
If you really want to become the 5% who do succeed online, YOU NEED A MENTOR, period!!!

A mentor will hold you by hand and show you through his experience step by step how to overcome all these obstacles. It does cost you money, but consider it an investment on yourself. I paid $2500 to get Personal VIP coaching from Alex Jeffreys who is a very successful internet marketer and has been there since many years. It was only after getting this mentorship that I figured out all these steps and finally became successful online!

Wanting to make money online is awesome and congratulations for making the decision to do so.

    There are a few things that you need to consider when you are wanting make money online;

    For example -
    - Are you going to have your own products?
    - Are you going to leverage someone elses products?
    - Who is your target market?
    - Are you going to have your own website?
    - Are you going to blog?
    - Are you going to use video to communicate your message?
    - Do you know what type of niche you are going to do?
    - How are you going to make the money online?
    - Are you going to sell products or are you going to train people?

So these are just a few things to consider.

The best advice I can give you is to learn through earning. Pick a niche, and jump right on in. As a copy writer I can tell you that you want to be a specialist instead of a generalist. So find a niche where people buy lots of products in, learn to make money in that niche while you learn how to write effective copy. Then build your empire.
Of course it helps being a War Room member as well. Don't be afraid to spend money learning.

    Hope this helps

    Chris,
I think you are really starting off in a great direction.

    Really !!

I wish more people here would do what you are doing. The craft of Writing will serve you very well.

Being able to communicate with others in an effective way has far and above been my most important Asset these last 8 years.

Keep moving in the direction you are starting.

    Best of luck.

P.S I checked your Site out. Very interesting. I think it can be good for you. Any recommendations? Maybe the About Me section you could be a little more personable about yourself. Keep what you have but maybe say something revealing and even funny about you. Where you grew up or how you got to where you are right now. And even how much you hate broccoli or love pizza Just something fun and "casually " biographical. Be engaging and "real" to your audience

I bet you see people with their long form sales letter style websites and think they're ugly and don't work, right?

Believe it or not, they work INCREDIBLY well. You should design an easy site like that - instead of the personal one you created in your name.

Read up on how to start your own online business. You can find good beginner ones in the War Room - or even through Google.

No I would rather agree with these arguments:
      - Put time and effort in research
      - Don't give up after you failed
      - There is always something to learn

Yes there are great people on this forum but just search yourself a topic that you're interested in, read as many threads as you can, experiment and if you're stuck then you can ask us anything. It's way more interesting to hear answers from 5 people then from 1 'coach'
