Is repetition the real secret to succeeding online?

Hey everybody. Been a little while since I've been on here but I just had a thought that I wanted to post on here. It was about repetition being the real secret to succeeding online and this goes with almost everything that you need to do in internet marketing. 1st you have to be willing to keep posting to your website and creating new content all the time in order to get new readers and to get people coming back to read more. 2nd you should be posting everything to social media and when you start to build up tweets for example, you will probably start to get more people following you as well. If you decide to use a list in order to keep in contact with your customers, it is basically the same concept but you want to stay connected with people that are interested in what you have to offer. Almost nobody buys anything the 1st time that they see it, and you need to be able to get ahold of them whenever they decide that they are finally ready to spend their hard earned cash on your products. 3rd you often need to have hundreds of posts on your blog, forum, social media, etc. in order to build a name for yourself and to start standing out from all of the competition online. Building up your ranks in Google is no easy task to master but the rewards that you get back from it could far outweigh all the hard work that it requires to even get towards the 1st page of it

    Quality is also important.

You have to ADD VALUE TO PEOPLE'S LIVES.

    Otherwise, you won't stand out.

People won't trust you and they won't buy from you or click on your ads.

It all boils down to YOU answering the classic consumer question: WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

That is true and quality may actually be the 2nd secret to succeeding online I never really try to sell anything though and I only want to show people the right ways to make money online without making the mistakes that I have made before. It takes quite alot of time and hard work to make it blogging but it is possible with enough dedication

id say how well you sell the product is a more important factor than the quality itself
you can have a product thats on point, but it doesn't mean a thing...if you can't get the right people to take notice...

EXACTLY. Marketing is the best weapon in business. With excellent marketing, you can convince people to buy a mediocre product... On the other hand, you may have a top quality product on sale but with poor marketing, you'll struggle to get a single sale!
My take on repetition is it depends... If you're able to get what you're getting then continue what you're doing but if not, stop! this means it won't work, time to innovate and try better tweaks.

That said - 99/100 people I work with come in with crap products and try to make it up with marketing, that doesn't work either. Especially today when so much marketing is socially driven - having a high quality, proven and effective product is more important than ever.

This is important for people to understand, each day we work with people who either have no product or have a crappy product and are fixated on how to build out their marketing - putting the cart before the horse.

        The two go hand-in-hand.

If you have a killer product, (or at least are committed to developing one as you move through the cycle of interacting with your market), then you leverage that by going BIG with case studies, testimonials, publicity, proof, etc...that's what makes really effective marketing.

I think repetition is the key to success in anything, not only internet marketing. Of course quality of the product and your work is necessary, but you can't do something once and expect to succeed without ever doing it again.

Consistency is the key. Providing quality and relevant content on a regular basis. Provide the answers that your audience are looking for. Remember 'know, like, trust'. Your readers have to learn to know you before they can like you, which will build to trust. Offer lots of advise before you try and sell to them.
    Consistency will reap it's rewards.

Repetition and consistency is key. You need to know how to manage your time when marketing. Sure there are 101 free traffic methods, but why do all of those, when you can simply run a cheap ad and get immediate targeted traffic to your site? Nothing wrong with running ads. Nobody's going to say that you took the "easy way" out with your marketing. And anybody who does say that needs to be gone out of your life.

      Hey Needbucksnow,
I get what you're saying with Repetition but I think Consistency is the more appropriate term.

Finding a system that works and be Consistent at working at it

Is repetition the real secret to succeeding online?

        Of course not.

A washing machine is the perfect model of repetition . . . it simply goes around and around and around all day long.

        But it never gets anywhere.

You can do the wrong things in marketing all day long . . . as many people do . . . and it gets you nowhere.

Obviously, there is more to it than that.

I see what you mean about this and that is a decent analogy. Adding content could also be compared to adding laundry to your washing machine as well. The purpose is to clean your clothes or to start building up your traffic in online terms. Marketing is obviously more complicated than that, but there is still a good reason for doing it all. That is kind of like saying that it is pointless to even keep doing internet marketing because it won't make a difference

That's not what I'm saying at all. Of course you need to do consistent marketing, but you need to do it in a smart, effective way. Lots of people market using techniques that don't work or that just work very poorly. And they repeat their mistake over and over again. They are great at repetition . . . but repeatedly being ineffective won't help you succeed online.

You have to spend your time on strategies and methods that are smart, effective, and profitable. And those methods can change over time so you have to be on top of what is working today!

Yes consistency is definitely the answer to success in anything you do.

Look at Jason Day who has just won the PGA Championship... it was the consistency of showing up to practice every day and work on his game that has led him to this triumph.

So success online is the same.

So yes posting information and creating value etc is incredibly important for people to get to know you and build a relationship with you. You want to be top of mind.

You want to be emailing your list everyday with value too... top of mind again so they know who you are.

But it's not just that... you have to also be promoting and attracting new people to you and working on income producing activities every day too.

So what are the income producing activities that you should be doing as well?

Just want to give you something to think about.

If you want to bounce any ideas off me just send me a message

    Happy to help

    Cheers

I agree and you have to be willing to invest in your business if you ever hope for it be successful online. Persistence and testing are key factors in seeing what kind of response you get from people and can make all the difference as well. When you find the right theme, ad, etc. you will get a much better response from people and make money. Just wanted to give you all a heads up that I had a problem with my database earlier, but was able to restore my website

The key to making money is to solve people's problems. You bought a laptop because your problem was that you needed a laptop. You paid a doctor because you had a health issue you needed to solve. The more problems you can solve the more money you will make.

You can add value such as giving free information, but that will not make you nearly as much money as solving peoples problems with a product/service that solves their problems NOW.

If by repetition, you mean consistency, then yes, consistency is key. However, repetition is not always a path to success. For example, I've had success with a couple of my web sites and tried to duplicate the concept in other web sites, only to fail. The new sites were just as good, if not better, than the old sites, but just never could get traction. I soon found that it was more productive to put my time and energy in improving the old sites than in creating new sites.

Also, since you're talking about repetition, always remember the RULE OF 8.

This 'rule' states that people will only BEGIN to entertain your offer if you 'earn' their trust somewhat by repeating your message several times.

This usually plays out in the form of seeing an email collection form several times or seeing an ad several times.

Some people need to see an ad several times first before they can act on that marketing material.

I agree with this and this is the reason that building a list works so well. I simply think it is easier and free to use social media in order to keep in contact with people. Building trust with people is a great rule to follow and writing like you are just talking to your friends is one of the best ways that I have found. If you have an idea about something interesting, you should be able to share it with people and don't be afraid to just be yourself when explaining things. I know that I would much rather read a real article like this, than one that is boring and doesn't really make sense anyways. All well, best of luck to everybody out there and just remember to never give up or quit on your dreams

Consistency is the key to success. You just have to figure out what is working best for you and then keep doing it over and over again,

Most marketes try to do what others are doing but most of the time, it may not work for them.

What works really well for one person, may not work for you. The key is to find what IS working for YOU.
