Yahoo Answers? What's the Point?

I've tried every way imaginable to try and become a part of the Yahoo answers community. It doesn't matter though because they have suspended my account for the 6th time now.

I don't get it, they musn't want any genuine people on there or somthin, cos I don't even post any links, and was even getting best answers.

If its your 6th time getting banned, they must've logged your IP and are just blocking you out for some past actions.

I submit once a week and receive only about 50 visitors and sell about 2 copies of whatever I'm promoting.

      Tell me how it's done?

They couldn't have logged my IP because it's been months since I've been back, and snce then my IP will have changed a few hundred times.

Please tell me how to do Yahoo answers without getting banned. (bearing in mind, I never even posted a link on there)

One thing you have to understand is that Yahoo answers is full of spam. If your post even closely resembles this, your are going to get the boot. Plain and simple.

Make sure your IP has 100% changed and delete all cookies on your computer... ccleaner.com.

If you are 100% sure it has changed, then you are obviously doing something wrong within your posts. Contact Yahoo and ask them whats up.

Ive not been on for a month just because i have been so busy but i joined last year and i have never been suspended and sometimes i have answered up to 40 times a day depending on the quality of the questions.

are you over doing the promo? are you doing too many affiliate links?

I basically give advice in the answer than only include links in the resource box.

ive sent out affiliate links but ive done so in a sincere manner and ive never had a complaint.

i would give it another go and if it happens ask why.

I have no techniques, other than researching and providing the solution in 2-3 paragraphs and then in the source section, I include my site URL (which promotes a related product as an affiliate) . I do not promote any product within the answer itself.

I also do not provide answers in varied subjects using the same profile. I use different profiles for different niches. My theory is that a person might not know or be interested enough to provide answers in niches as varied as ex:health and computers.

I must be very dense, here's yet another place that I hadn't even considered having any income potential. I have so much to learn from you all! It seems every day I login there is more and more to be learned, how do any of you keep up every day?

This is what Im on there for... traffic to up the members in my forum. It's not helping that they keep banning me.

I don't post links but have links in my profile which I believe is allowed.

Don't post links in the text box at all, only in your resource box. It is easy to get banner because it's almost enough that ANYONE reports any of your posts for anything, even if it's not spam. So your point is not about not pissing off the moderators, but the other members, that's why you need to have a kind of low profile while you're writing. I've answered around 120 questions over there, every 5th was in my niche - now I get a steady traffic from over there, 10-20 visitors per day for more than a month and a half, even though I didn't post anything for more than a month.

Their traffic is great and is targeted, they're interested in the subject since I see that most of them stay longer on my website than other visitors from other sources. Anyway, I'd really recommend it - especially if there are lot's of questions from your niche over there.

I dont get it either. I have tried combination after combination. Maybe after the first ban it was the IP - maybe cookies. I actually didnt try to play games. As for asking yahoo what the problem is? Good luck. You get a canned response. All they say is that they looked into it and yes you should be banned. Actually they dont even say banned they say 'suspended.' Someone at yahoo may want to pick up a dictionary. I am putting yahoo answers down in the useless category. I need methods that are repeatable and not random as their system seems to be. Yes I have seen obvious single person questions and best answers on their system. With obvious links back to their own sites. Yet I spend time answering questions and every once in a while post back to one of my sites and get banned. The funny thing is that one of my sites could be considered an authority on the subject matter. Yet the posts that remain have answers that are trivial and show no knowledge on the subject matter at hand. In fact one answer I left concerning electrical knowledge was left with a bunch of others that were just plain dangerous. But silly me I'm just a electrical engineer with 20+ years experience - what do I know.

I guess you could say I'm a little jaded about the whole answers experience. Some of you guys that have been on their for a few years may actually be exempted from the new gestapo techniques being used on answers now. I have determined for me that it is a total waste of time in both reguards. First if you ever answer questions, you will be banned if you ever leave a link - useful or not. Second if you ever use an answer, it better not be on anything important.

I think I will ask and answer quesitons here on this forum. The answers are intelligent and nobody gets banned without reason.

Yahoo Answers is a joke. It is *great* for lots of short-term traffic, but they don't support their 'answerers'. I've been banned once after reaching level 4 - I mean, really, the amount of content I provided to the community was more than what I'd provide to my own damn customers!

The community is too inflated for them to actually review an account, they rely on the 'report' button...as long as people don't push that too much on your posts, you'll be fine.

    It's a love hate relationship..

Thanks, maybe I'll try those. I actually enjoy answering questions in my areas of expertise. It really urks me (not sure its really a word - but you get it) that all my brilliant wisdom  has been deleted.

There is no point, even though I still get traffic everyday from the questions I answered there, the hassles with suspension and reported posts there was just not worth it.

My only advice is never ever put your own link or personal site in the answer. It should always go in the resource - and not for every answer.

Also, read the questions very carefully and answer correctly.

I don't answer there anymore, I don't trust that site.
