Hey everyone,

My name's Bill, I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for months now. I'd like to say hi and thank everyone so far, as everyone is really helpful here and full of great enthusiasm for this business. I'm new to IM but not new to computers, as I know alot of you as well had a similar start. For the last 7+ years I've been working in the IT field, most recently working for a large pharmaceutical company managing service teams in their technology department.

I loved my job and I loved my employees...it was a great experience leading so many people and it was very challenging as well. It all came to a crashing halt when the company decided to outsource a majority of their domestic technology support. Making and selling drugs was their priority of course! Having the best network and infrastructure support does not make them money.

Of course it was a blessing in disguise. I decided to vacation in Europe and loved it so much here I decided to stay indefinitely. That's when I met John (who is a member here) and we decided to partner up. He was the IM guy, and I was the fitness and nutrition guy. We have a good combination going. We both have computer skills but he knows alot more about web site construction, programming, and IM. I'm an expert in fitness and nutrition and my corporate experience helps in dealing with other companies as well as outsourced employees.

We currently have a product as well as a membership site going strong, and I've been reading these forums to try to learn the field. So far it's fun and definitely rewarding.

I hope to contribute here and meet some people in the IM field as well. If anyone is going to the marketers cruise in January, John and I will be there. If you see two idiots at the bar on the ship laughing and making fun of each other, it's me and John. Come and say hello.

Bill

    Hi Bill and welcome.
Looks like you have some good ideas going on. Working with a partner is not a bad idea at all. Most of us are weak in at least one area and teaming up with right person could really work on so many levels.
    Skill and motivation included.
Anyways good luck and I look forward to your posts.

Welcome aboard Bill. That is great that you have a skilled partner to help you navigate the waters. No one ever gets anywhere in this business by themselves.

Welcome to buckz55 too! Looks like you are off to a great start as well.

        Good luck to you both!

thanks everyone! there is alot of info to learn but i've always been able to easily discern the 'immediate' from the 'not-so-immediate' if you know what i mean and take things one step at a time...i've noticed alot of people try to learn it all at once and don't want to make any mistakes...screw that i'm in for let's try it and see what happens!

      Heya Michael,

Yeah I am familiar with the meaning you are thinking of.

The definition of piddle from Dictionary.com is:

"-verb (used without object) 1. to spend time in a wasteful, trifling, or ineffective way; dawdle (often fol. by around): He wasted the day piddling around. "

I got the name Netpiddler because people around these parts would ask what I was up to and the wife would say "oh he's just piddling around on the net again"

I've made a full time living online since 2001. I kept the name Netpiddler as my way of thumbing my nose at the folks that thought I was just wasting time and couldn't make a living on the net.

      I hope that makes sense.
