I recently created a blog, because pretty much everyone was saying, that it is a good idea, and i just want to ask: How do i get traffic to my blog? I would prefer if i do not use paid advertising thought if necessary i wil. I am sorry if this is a broad question, but i have no idea how manage the blog, besides creating content on it.

I would recommend Blog commenting and forum marketing. These will bring in immediate traffic to your site. Master these two first and then start adding as time goes on because if you want to do many at a time you will end up being overwhelmed and nothing done

So very true. I constantly find myself psyching myself out and becoming overwhelmed. It makes it very easy to just throw your hands up and quit.

That's about 3 different niches in one. Try cutting and be specific. That helps in finding your own voice n presenting you as an expert instead of a no good jack of all trade.

If you don't want to buy traffic, begin with the social media traffic. Set up your profiles on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. There are many online tutorials about bringing social media traffic. Facebook is very effective for blogs.

Begin with one social website at a time and then move on to another as you see good results.

You should do guest blog posts

Reach out to blogs in your niche

Get them to link to you through high quality blog posts you submit to them OR guest infographics.

You WIN TWICE: You get direct traffic that is highly niche-specific AND you get yummy backlinks for SEO purposes.

    What's not to love?

    One more thing:

The secret to successful niche blog outreach : Do not be discouraged if there are few DIRECT NICHE blog matches for your niche.

Instead, think in terms of % matches.

In other words, if 20% of the categories/tags of a blog INVOLVES your keywords OR the CONTEXT of your keywords, you need to guest post on that blog.

This is one SECRET INGREDIENT to guest blogging too many guest bloggers overlook.

    Now you know

All out massive action dude/. You want to be producing useful, relevant content to your target audience each day - video and written, submit it to YouTube, get on social media and build audiences by getting involved, stream daily, produce content for Medium, drive that traffic back to your blog and make sure your blog has an integrated lead-gen funnel so you don't have the traffic visit and then leave your blog without further committing to you.

Here is a list of what can help but I think the last two are the most important ones

    1) Focus on the long tail
    2) Stick around (the longer you are in business and producing quality online content, the more likely you are to pop up in search results)
    3) Optimize your articles (meta title, description and keywords)
    4) Link Building
    5) Use Google's Keyword Tool
    6) Provide amazing value to your readers
    7) Don't try to outsmart Google
    8) Think of SEO as an opportunity to create value
    9) Decrease bounce rate
    10) Produce quality content
    11) Create a community ... Get social .. creating a community in Facebook will be the best choice to get recurring traffic ...
    12) Ask the people to participate in the your site ..

In addition to the suggestions above, here's my two cents...

As with any business it's best to start by thinking about what people want, then give it to them. This is better than just producing content then wondering why no-one is reading it.

You can find out what people want by using the Google AdWords keyword planner in the topic area you are thinking about. This will show you the popular phrases people use when searching online and you can write relevant content.

Producing a lot of content is also important. I've heard each piece of content on a blog described as a "hook" to catch visitors, so more is better.

Once written, promote your content on social media and interact with other relevant people/content on these sites to generate visits.

There are many ways to increase your site traffic. You should do both On page & Off page SEO. These two ways are the most effective way to increase your both page rank & Site traffic. You can do Forum posting, Relevant blog commenting, Social media sites or something like these. Thank

    Content

    Content

    Content

Oh....quality content is what I mean though!

Regular updates on topics that have a good search volume.

    Good, solid stuff.

Include pictures and videos where possible.

Include your keywords in your title, page url and content. Also, synonyms.

That will start the traffic ball rolling....

    Hope that helps

        Of course.

        Traffic will rise and fall.

Google is ever changing - and there are no guarantees.

But, what G does want is quality. No 'gaming' the system. Just a valuable user experience.

So, good quality content, regularly updated is a great place to start.

I feel the hardest parts got two points.

first to get massive traffic ..2nd is Constant traffic like each day at least this amount of viewer..

is rewarding to see each day you traffic increase...but I noticed hard to maintain that...

bound to have low traffic few days per week... when especially come weekend....

Friday night , saturday ..and sunday . Monday even too...sometimes..

I guess you can drive more constant traffic with PPC though.

So far I've spent over $500k with Google over the last ten years

But you need to monitor your ROI of course

Are you open to investing in paid traffic?

    1. Set up a squeeze page
    2. Offer something for free that goes well with the content of your blog - it can be a pdf or a video, make it worth.
    3. Offer value and promote every 3-4 emails or so - you need an auto-responder for that.
    4. Send paid traffic to your squeeze page...
    5. Bank

I am starting fresh with a new blog as well so I'm learning ways to drive traffic to it. Here are some tips in no particular order.

    2. Try some bookmarking sites like StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicious
    3. Google+ Communities
    4. Social Media (twitter, facebook, linkedin, google+, etc)
    5. Make sure your blog is SEO optimized. I use Yoast SEO for WordPress

I use all the above every time I make a new post. Try to post at least a few times a week.

for Stumble upon can easily get some traffic ...

Honestly, I haven't figured Digg out just yet but I am readily submitting my blog posts and any other links I like. You have to be careful not to submit just your own links. From what I've read, the traffic is pretty short lived but it's still pretty quick and easy and you should keep it in your daily activities.

StumbleUpon is a little better imo. Submit your links and start stumbling some pages in your niche. Also start following some people (many times they follow back). You can also try out their paid traffic service that has worked well for me.

The best free way to get targeted traffic to your blog is through SEO or search engine optimization.
First you need to write content rich articles that the search engines love and also optimized with the keywords your want your blog to rank in the top spot on the search engines like Google.
If this is too overwhelming for you, its best to outsource this process on websites like Fiverr.com.

      To the OP:

The Yoast SEO plugin makes SEO for posts and pages pretty easy.

There is a scoreboard and it tells you what you need to improve on. Make the edits and recheck.

It's pretty awesome. Within a day my first blog post was on the bottom of page one on Bing for a particular keyword phrase. It's not a great keyword phrase but it's pretty obvious the plugin worked.

The slow and steady (free) way involves produces engaging content on a consistent basis. You will get social shares and backlinks. The backlinks will eventually help you rank. Aggressive social marketing can help, but don't be spammy.

Really, it comes down to being an authority in an active and growing niche. If you can do that everything else will fall into place.

If you want results tomorrow, there's always AdWords or Outbrain. Of course, funneling money into a site with poor content won't do you any good. (haven't seen your site so don't know)

You should track your analytic and there are many places that you could get traffic. The easiest one is social network i.e, Facebook, Twitter. Join the group that related to your niche and kinda share what good for the community before promote your blog. You also can used promote it via Facebook ads just to get more reach to your blog. Forum is very great way to generate traffic. Signature are the easiest one but that is not the most effective one. Probably you can create thread/article and then share your url.
If your doing tutorials using videos, of course Youtube is the best to leverage it. Mix and play around and don't forget to track where your traffic come and your next plan should be to how to get most of it.

All of these suggestions are great. I would also mention that you need to stay consistent. Choose what time and what day/days a week that you're going to post and stick to it. People have short attention spans these days. Your readers will come to expect a post on day xx at or around time xx and if you fail to deliver they'll click away and may not come back. Or they won't be back for a long time.

I usually write half a dozen posts at the beginning of each month and schedule them to roll out every Monday at 9:30am. This will give me a solid month of guaranteed content. In between my other daily/weekly tasks I'll usually get hit with other ideas that I'll put together for release every Thursday. But, it works really great because if I get too busy I know that I'm covered with a guaranteed post that's already set to be fired out every week.

DM has a great episode on blog content creation in their lab that I used to really up my content creation.

Since you have a combination of social media marketing, health and self-development, it would be hard to drive traffic on a single niche. But if you can go for health and self-development, you can get more traffic.

Try solving people's queries based on ehalth and self-development. Write articles based on keywords with good search volume as that would bring in good search engine traffic. For articles, find an article that;s already proven popular, create something better than that and do some outreach. That way, it will be easier to get you a rank on Page 1.

For health and self-development niche, you can also get traffic from social media. Promote hugely on social media and do some engagement. It can bring you huge traffic.

Do paid advertising, and capture email leads. Email leads alone can provide with a heavy dose of traffic everyday. Along with paid advertising, seek out joint ventures, promote your RSS feed all over, and continue to write good content. Be sure to promote in places in your niche like forums, Youtube, social media, and even article marketing if your niche still benefits from it on there.

    1. I would suggest social media - find groups on all social media possible that would be interested in your content and post links to your content there. With time you can see which social media is more relevant for you and focus your efforts there
    2. Cross Links - find other blogs that would be interested in posting links to your blog on their blog in exchange for you doing the same with their links
    3. Paid advertising if you want quick results. googleads are the best of course or you can try some companies like Taboola, Outbrain, Nster
