Hello, I am having an app designed and wondering if anyone can help me. This will be my first app just wondering what things I should be telling the developer. I did tell him that i needed it to work on mac and pc. that i wanted a zip file that anyone could extract and place on the desktop. plus everything else i needed my app to do. then i started thinking that i need a name for the app, need a sales page, need to figure out how when someone purchases
it it goes straight to them, what kind of hosting do i need, how do i jv with people, and probably a ton of other things i should know. Help.

As a developer and internet marketer myself I highly suggest that you ask for a quotations on different developers and not just one. You should ask for the following:

    - Timeline
    - Phase
    - Mode of Payment (Initial Payment, Full Payment , Per Phase)
    - Portfolio with similar software that you want to be made
    - Cost

Also, If possible you can also set a small budget to hire a couple of developers to do a simple task to test whether the developer really knows what he is talking about.

From there you'll be able to get who will better work for your timeline, budget and even how responsive the developer was

      1. I would normally go to Google first to get my answers. Search Google for each phase you want answered.

      2. In the WF, use the Search link above to research your topic. Most of the questions have been answered. You just need to do a little digging.

You are asking for the whole system, for someone to take you by the hand from product creation (pointers) to product launch. Research each phase. If certain things are unclear, ask your questions.

If you want to pay a mentor, that's another story.

You have some good suggestions here from the others above my post. If that is not satisfactory to you then I would suggest you getting a mentor or mentors.

Another suggestion it to outsource the work you need done.

    Hope this helps,
