Monetization ideas: How would you monetize a website that gets 600 views per day?

I have a website that gets about 400-800 pageviews a day (150-250 unique visitors).

I already have AdSense and ShoppingAds all over the site but I'm only earning a few dollars per month.

I used to have CPX Interactive banners on the site but I got deactivated because I wasn't getting enough traffic.
- any alternatives you can recommend? Banner programs that pay (good money) for impressions?

Do you have any ideas how I could get a bit more out of this website? I would think that with these kind of numbers you should be able to bring in at least a high two figure number

The site is an article directory and most of my traffic is from writers/marketers submitting their articles.

    Maybe your showing too many ads for your traffic? The more adsense ads you show, the more lower click priced ones will show. Just a thought.

    Seems better to work on more traffic rather than trying to squeeze more out of the ads. Not that you shouldn't try to get the most out of them, but what is more important. Plus more traffic you can send to authors, more submits, more updated content.

    Hard to say without analyzing your site. But I'm assuming that you have tested different monetization strategies?

    There is too many factors that come into play to really give you a blanket answer.

    Is articleshowroom (the site in the sig) the website in question? If so, you should consider removing shoppingads and put in something like chitika premium contextual ads.

    Another monetization strategy you can look into is selling sitewide links. Each link could fetch you a few bucks a month.
