What are the rules about posting (my) free reports?

Hi,

This is a question for a mod or someone who is familiar with the rules of this forum.

I have several eBooks and reports that I've wrote.

They do NOT contain any affiliate links nor do they promote a product. I've wrote them mostly for pleasure, some about mindset, others about copywriting and others about IM in general. They also do NOT promote any services whatsoever.

Can I post them on the forum without being considered self-promotion? The only link is towards my website which again, is not promoting / selling anything.

Thank you,
Razvan

Self-promotion threads that involves sending readers out of this website are usually categorised under pay-to-advertise. That said, if you're good with words, you can probably play along the fine lines.

If I felt that I'm really giving value to fellow readers, I'll just post it up. I'll let the moderators decide whether I'm actually contributing value, or just another spam bot to be banned.

Go ahead Razvan, if it's like you said, no affiliate links and no plausible TOS offences, no reason to fault you, or your forum content.

If you want to post your reports then the War Room or Warrior Classified section would be the place to do that. I would not just post them in the main forum as it will be considered self-promotion regardless of whether there are any affiliate links in the report. Besides, if you post them in the War Room or in the classified section then you can put affiliate links in the report if you wish.

Also, if you want to post in the War Room you cannot require opt-in. The report must be totally free with no opt-in required. I'm not sure whether affiliate links are allowed inside the report if you post in the War Room. If you are a member you can read the rules before posting.

    Thank you for the answers.

Referring to your comment nicheblogger, I don't have an opt-in page, at least not for these. I tend to write in order to clarify my thoughts and internalize what I learn.

All the reports are only on Scribd. No opt-in, no need to visit my site. I also tend to write 750 - 1000 words a day before working on my actual projects in order to get some momentum.

The interesting part is that since I've done this for a while, I've gathered 30.000 - 40.000 words worth of material. I could start a membership site with this stuff if I actually had the time to do it.

You should run an ad in the Warrior Classifieds section. What true benefit are you getting out of putting up a free report, but not getting any sales/commissions for it. Brand identity? Get in line. It's a long one.

Most of us that come to this forum do so to learn and discuss direct Internet marketing topics. This is not the place to promote yourself, your business, your links, or your personal agenda.

Can you imagine what this discussion forum would be like if anyone that created an account could use it to promote whatever they wanted?

The owners of this forum allow you to do your promotion in the paid sections of the forum . . . so you pay to play, so to speak. Classified ads, Warriors for Hire, and the Warrior Special Offers sections are designed for your promotions.
