It always looks hard to set everything up. Make a list with your tasks and divide the work by days. It won`t look so hard after that.

Not everyone is cut out for running a business.

When you are ready to take it seriously, you'll find the motivation.

Until then, McDonalds is always hiring.

I think you need better focus on what exactly you want to focus on.. I believe paid traffic and low payout affiliate offers are the easiest way to make money in affiliate marketing.. Charles Ngo has a great blog you should visit. He is one the most highly respected affiliates in the industry and is know for his great advice.

After 2 years, you can pick up many different IM methods. You are probably lost in information. You need to focus on just one. Get it so you are making enough revenue, then move onto another project.

    Schrodinger's cat...

You might succeed or fail and you don't want to know which it will be. As long as you don't commit, you can keep the dream alive.

If you are starting out at this juncture and not ready to jump out of bed filled with anticipation and excitement and feeling giddy with butterflies in your stomach every morning...well then honestly you are NOT cut out for this business.

Its kind of similar to those Marriages you hear about every now and then where the very first year is drudgery and unhappiness for the Newlyweds...well those people should not be Married if the first year is like that

See where Iam going with this ??

Would you be engaging yourself in more than one method of IM throughout these two years? Jumping from one method to another is essentially pushing the restart button on yourself.

Keep yourself focused. Use only one method at a time. This helps keep your mind clear and you'll be sure of what your next required step is, you'll definitely find yourself making a lot more progress when you know what you are supposed to do.

You may better ask yourself what really your plan is, what is your clear goal? If you don't have definitive goal then you'll just find yourself floating with lots of information underneath.... I've been there. Next is... if you indeed have a clear goal, how much effort and time you've been putting for the process of reaching that goal? Is that your priority numero uno? If not, then this may have answered your question.

I used to have the same issue, although not quite as bad,, as this is my only income.. I found using trello works great, its a list program, that is easy to manage (things to do lists) and use a pomodoro timer . Google "pomodoro technique" you can find free timers on the net . the idea is that you have a set amount of time that you use only for working on your project ( let's say 20 minutes) then you get a 5 minute break to work on the irrelevant stuff,, facebook,, interesting distractions that you came across while working on your money maker,, etc,, etc,, then you go back to work for another 20 minutes. do this for 3 or 4 session,, then take a 1/2 hour for the nonproductive stuff.
With the Trello set up a few lists
    1. Things that have to be completed today.
    2. Things that have to be completed this week.
    3. 3 month goals.
    4. Brainstorm
    5. work in Limbo
That is about all you need, you can drag and drop tasks between lists... i.e.. 3month goal to week to day... or or when you have a writing project and hire a writer , move the task over to Limbo...as you come across distractions during you work day that give you ideas.. drop them in the brainstorm area and follow up on them later when you have time..
The great thing is that both of these are free programs, and trello you can integrate with your phone,,
This really turned things around for me.. I hope it helps..

    2 years?

My friend if you are learning email marketing then you are building a list. How do you not build a list while learning listbuilding? We are here to help you every step of the way.

I hate to sound like broken record but provide some value to a targeted market give incentive for email address.....you are building a list. Then you find out what you are doing right and what can be improved....ask questions..join a facebook group on that topic and take notes of useful strategies and apply them.

One shoe does not fit all...there are many ways to build a list. I prefer product creation but many others do so with websites/landing pages, videos, social media, free traffic and paid. You can even build a list online from offline traffic.

Warriorforum is both a blessing and a curse. There is always something to read. to distract you...you have to have laser focus and discipline. Give...take...then log out and apply. Come back share some results. Keep going.

You are absolutely correct...its hard...and yet not so hard at all....look around it is really easy for people to struggle for weeks, months and years right here in the forum.

Procrastination and fear of success also get in the way sometimes. When ever I feel there is a weakness I have or something that needs improving I begin researching it...addressing it and making a change.

I was having a similar problem with procrastination and a friend recommended a book that really made a difference for me: The Now Habit: A Strategic Program for Overcoming Procrastination and Enjoying Guilt-Free Play.

This is a very good read and made a real difference in my productivity.

I had the same probem. Too many courses, too much information and then, starting but then getting confused, start again, get confused, frustrated.

What did I do? I hired a coach that could take me by the hand, literally and walk me through step by step. Was the best thing I ever did.

They set up my squeeze page, my blog and my Facebook page while I started my coaching. Then I was instructed on what to do. Make sales ASAP. My coach had me focus on two traffic sources--one paid and one-free. The paid one got me sales immediately and built my email list fast. I even got to learn how to look at the stats!!

I am not afraid anymore and any question I have, I have unlimited email support. My coaching is done by Skype, one-to-one.

My recommendation? Get a coach that will work with you one on one. And one that does not cost an arm and a leg. I was truly floored when I heard how much my coaching was. Way less than what most coaches charge.

When I see a thread like this I wonder how you live. Who is paying your bills while you learn and think about and procrastinate? Do you have a job? Do you show up for work?

If you never try - you'll never fail. Online or offline - if you don't show up for work, you won't be paid.

No one here can give you self discipline or motivation - has to come from you. Have to say, though, I can't imagine WHAT you could spend two years learning! None of this stuff is that difficult.

Telling a procrastinator to focus is like telling the bird to leave the worm alone.

His brain has to want it more than his inner nature wants to prevent it. Until he figures out what he really wants, all the advice in the world is useless.

One action every two weeks means you don't want the work part, only the reward part. Find something else.

I believe you need to Focus on your main goal! Stop being distracted, because everyday, you will receive a new email or read a new post with the best new solution for something... i have tried that path long time ago and failed.

So first... Your mindset should be focusing on your main goal.
Secondly... Make a plan in terms of timing that you will use for this project. You need to schedule it and accomplish it, without any distraction!
Third... Motivation, you need to be highly motivated to work on it, don´t stop when fail to accomplish something, you need to gain double energy to continue even harder until you succeed.

I have failed a lot, but got the energy to continue with much more strength and succeeded! If i can you also can do it!

    Regards,

And one more thought to add to the pile: It does not have to be perfect. I have a client who can barely produce anything because he has perfectionitis. Here are two things to think about:

    1. It really does not have to be perfect! It only has to be good enough for your customers to take action, and to get good value for what you provide. Think about the last pair of shoes you bought, or the last book you read or movie you saw. I'll bet you thought there were things that could have been better. But they were good enough that you wanted them, and felt they were valuable enough to buy and use.

    2. Your first try will be far from perfect. Think about learning to play the guitar. The first time you play some chords, they will not be perfect. But as you practice, you start sounding better. And if you have a good teacher, you sound better faster. So don't worry about being a rock star the first time out. Instead, be happy if you make $10 the first time out (or add 10 people to your list). Then keep at it, and make $100 the next time out. Soon you will be making a living wage, and perhaps even more.

Like Yoda said- there is no try- only do. It's easy to get info overload. I recently launched a product, Directory Domination, and I got an email from a guy who wanted a refund. (keep in mind that It has sold 500 copies and has a .05 percent refund rate.) He's been in the IM space for over a year, and has ZERO clients. I know that he probably has a hard drive full of this and that, and goes from one thing to the next. He said nothing has worked in the past, and he was hoping my product would finally solve all his problems. Well, he didn't even make it through the thing- (I suspect he is a serial refunder). You need to find one or two things, or a niche and go after that. There are always things to distract you. The trick is to stay focused.

Probably you are procrastinating. You think every day you will be working but you son't do it. Take action; otherwise, you won't reach that place you want to be in.

There is a lot and sounds like you filled up your pipe for now. My advice is to just start shooting and then aim.

Either go to work creating and setting yourself up your own funnel or go leverage somebody elses efforts.

One of the biggest things you can learn is being consistent and sending traffic to your urls on demand.

Another big part for me that started to help grow me after I started to do it was manage the money I made. Instead of spending it I learned to reinvest in my marketing and business and once I started to do that you know I made more money and had more to manage. I heard it all before but you know it's funny because it's true.

Buckle up and just do it

You really need to take action on one thing - and one thing only. Daily, not every 2 weeks!!! The more you jump from one thing to another you will never get anywhere.

Also you really need a strong 'why'. Why do you want to do this? What are your end goals? If you have a really strong reason (why) nothing will stop you on your journey to success.

Don't chase the money, chase your dreams and goals. Chase the money and you will fail.

This path is not for everyone. Hard work and action will win the day.
