Paypal reversal - bank account close

Hi,
Need some advice here. I sold a product on the 30th and got a email today that the buyers bank account closed and they reversed the money.

I didn't loose anything as the commission by paypal was refunded and it was
only $10. How is it possible then for a person to buy something and can close the account a few days later and you loose a sale this way.

Is this just another scam so every time you get a sale you must hold you breath for a few days until your sale is finalized.

Anybody else had this problem before?

    Hi,

If the account had been closed even before the purchase PayPal would do this one last transaction or even maybe several, not knowing it had been closed. If it were a scammer he/she probably bought a lot of things before getting caught. They could do a lot of damage in the two days it takes the closed account to be discovered.

You are way of topic here . Paypal serves me fine.

Back to topic. When i pay with paypal myself I have my credit card linked and the fees is taken of as the transaction is completed from my card.

The buyer have a registered domain and so will get hold of them, but this is not good as you could loose money this way. At least it is digital so nothing really lost (kinda)

I actually did this myself a few weeks ago.

We changed banks due to poor customer service and I forgot to change the banking account info for PayPal.

I bought something using PayPal using the old bank account and the transaction went through. I felt like a lint ball behind the dresser of life when I found out about it. I promptly sent the money as soon as I knew what happened.

Buyer just contacted me. He closed the one account and added the new but there must have been a system (Paypal) glitch. He said he will send me the money again and apologized.

Wonderful to have customers like this.

Glad it worked out - assuming he isn't giving you the old "the check is in the mail" line.

Its not always fraud, people do make silly mistakes.

            Good luck!
