The Flow Of Marketing

So I was watching this show called the pitch. It has 2 advertising companies compete for a client. In it I have noticed a certain flow that all of these companies seem to have.
  1. They meet the client and gather information.
  2. They let their team know the results of the meeting.
  3. They seem to work at figuring out what it is that the client wants to let the customer know.
  4. They think of the clients customers and what needs they have that the product or service may meet. They also think of any reasons the customer may not want it.
  5. They come up with a catchy slogan that they base all other ideas on.
  6. They create advertisments that make people want to share the ad with others.

One thing that I have noticed is that they never seem to think about where their customer is, and how their customer will find the ad.

I wonder if that is because when you have a catchy ad you only have to put it in front of a few people to get it going. For example, one company wanted to paint a subway station and train. But it was for a national product! How did they expect this single action would spread to the rest of the country?

Good question. Seems like that would increase local interest but it is possible that people would share it with word of mouth or social media or something as well.Something like that might even make it into the newspaper as well

Well, with powerful ads, you don't really have to think about where your target clients are supposed to find them. Also, if your company is already well-known and established, this is no longer something that you need to worry about.
