I got one this morning from a supposed officer of the US Army in Iraq. Seems he and his unit found $25 million hidden in Saddam Hussein's family's house, and they hid it. Now they need to smuggle it out of the country, and would I help in return for 30% of it?

Let me get this straight... you're committing treason against the US Government, and you want my help? Boy, did YOU pick the wrong guy.

You remind me of a business quote I ran into.

"I can be bought. If they paid me enough, I'd work for the Klan." Charles Barkley

        I did enjoy that one.

        best wishes everyone

The creativity of these scammers is unbelievable. If they would just put that creativity to a good purpose, they could make a fortune. They probably do make good money with the scams as it never ceases to amaze me how some folks get caught with this crap. I can't imagine how anyone would believe this, but I was reading how someone said that one of their friends husbands or uncles had lost about $25K in one of these deals recently. You got to feel sorry for them.

Not new really. Scammers have been using this method even before the recession.

I have a "friend" who fell for the "Nigerian prince needs to Xfer a million bucks to the states" scam way back in the day. He started off sending them about $2k, but he ended up giving them almost $10k by the time he realized it was a scam!!!

Yeah, he's kind of a dumbass.

That's a new one. I got a very excited msg from one of my Chinese programmers once. He got one of those emails and asked me if it was real or not. Poor guy said even if someone did send him $20M, the government over there would never let him keep the cash haha.
