What if you can't contact your hired mate on the WF?

One year ago,I purchased a website design as well as SEO service for $1088 from an Indian guy from the Warrior Forum, and his job is to design a website which will attract 1 million visitors at the end of 3 months.

After his first 2 websites completed,he found some serious issues eventually lead his paypal account shut down,so that he's no money to continue his work.

Being a teenager,I'd being a bit naive,which I add $500 for the investment during October 2014.

But since then he didn't show up untill the end of Nov,and told me that he has been hit by a car, andhis parterner which doing iso jobs for him dead during the accident.
I had comfort him,for in return he made a new business plan, which is about selling product about the Indian cricket league, and since his business before has been totally ruined,he need me to invest again, which made me his most loyal customer.
Again I gave him $1,250,and there he goes, setting up his websites. That's February 2015.

And one month later,he lost connection with me,whatever I sent,he never replies.
The reason I invest him is he made me a lot of promises, including refund if we aren't able to reach the goal, and he even gave his paypal account and passwords when his account had a probelm.

Now,5 months later,I could finally contact him again. This time he told me that the profect earlier has failed, but will set a new business plan.'Will update you by tomorrow"like everytime he would promise me,and said"will make you $25,000 before September".Only this time,he didn't ask for another investment.
And,like the title, again,he said he's got an internet issue, and "will catch you later".

Hours passed, and days flown, again and again I couldn't contact him,and his"will update you by tomorrow" still there, which he said dozens of time.

I gave him my trust, yet in return,I suffer his 'internet issues',and maybe even worse.
From September 2014 to Septemeber 2015,I spent totally $2,838 on him,and recieve nothing but two useless websites, which the domain's already expired.

Do please tell me what to do,and how to solve the problem, warriors.

I had faith on you,Amit, and if you are reading this,I hope you realize the serious of our problems and contact me right now.

What to do? Not much you can do, except try to learn for the future from these very expensive lessons.

    SirLemon,

Cut your losses. Even if he contacts you again, don't mind him, and of course, don't give him any money -- I think the period for PayPal claims and chargebacks has already lapsed; and

In my opinion, wasting a year or more of your time chasing a dream is far worse than losing $3K± in a day ...

Of course, for a teenager, one year of time is the most important, valuable, and priceless treasure.

As a teenager, It's good to be sympathetic. But when a person who don't contact you for a long time, contact again to seek investment, should be careful. You are young and take the experience as a lesson.

    U can contact Paypal.
Though you are out of the dispute time period, still paypal can take action on his account if u can show valid proofs (ur chat history, emails etc).
They might eventually ban his account and the IP address with which he accesses his paypal account. May be if he created another paypal, that might get banned based on his real IP address.

If it happens, he will be screwed as Indians rely only on paypal to get paid.
I once had a similar issue and contacted Paypal about 6 months after the transaction and they took care of the issue

I doubt there is any way to get your money back after this long. You've been scammed - pure and simple.

You simply cannot believe wild claims people make - 1,000,000 visitors in 3 months....$25,000 before so and so time...no one can make those promises.

When someone you hire begins to have multiple excuses - that should be a red flag. The excuses he gave you are common ones used by people who take the money and don't get the work done.

Sorry this happened to you - you're young so move on past it and learn from it. Don't believe wild claims - there is no "magic" online. Learn to ask the hard questions.

If you see that same person advertising here - alert the help desk so the owners can stop him from scamming others.

There is a VERY small chance of recovering any money from him. As far as completing the project with him and getting a million visitors chances of that happening are about 245 million to one. In short move on and find something that will make you money. If you want a site with a million visitors find someone who has achieved that a few times, then get them to tell you how they did it. Failing to get direct advice from them, try to identify the key ingredients in their success and duplicate them. Also realize that shared hosting won't work with that type of visitor load.

      Sirlemon,
      That really sucks.

I believe karma will bite Amit on the butt someday for seemingly scamming like this.

But I know its a helpless feeling. I have been there before. Not quite like this but getting screwed over.

Its one of those things that never gets easy, but it is also one of those things you grow from and learn to handle better in future occurrences

You said you paid through Freelancer the second time. Were you able to make a dispute on Freelancer?

Sorry for my bad english. I'm new here, so I had one negative experience at https://www.upwork.com/ . I've been working a job at freelancer but I did not know that I need to have a contract with my boss. He paid me regularly, but when he need to paid me the last payment, he didn't do that. I wonder if I can apply him somewhere here https://www.upwork.com/no matter what we didn't make a contract?

Both Upwork and Freelancer have rules, and you need to understand these before you work in each marketplace. Upwork offers arbitration, (I don't know about Freelancer), and when you enter into a job with a client, there are certain expectations, (the "contract"). (i.e., You don't need to set up a separate contract in addition to what the marketplace provides.) If a client does not act ethically, contact Upwork about arbitration, and they should be able to help you.

        MAIN FORUM RULE

If you have a problem with another Warrior, a Guru, or God, take it up with them directly. Not here. No exceptions.
If you have a problem with something purchased through this forum - and the person is openly selling through this forum - contact the help desk.

The rule above is the first part of the WF rules - not that anyone is reading the rules...but...

Things like this happen all the time online. It sucks that it happened to you. The best you can do is dust yourself off, and take 1 week off to gather your thoughts and relax for a new business agenda. But this time, trust YOURSELF, and learn internet marketing from the ground up. This knowledge is something that no one can take from you (unless you get a "flu shot" mysteriously and wake up with amnesia).

Only read half or so of your post. This is YOUR fault. Stop chasing dreams and magic solutions that are too good to be true.

Not much you can do at this point except live and learn.
