I didn't know where to post this so I thought here would work. I have been doing a few videos for youtube but they have all been very low quality (me in front of a webcam). I am looking to make it much more professional.

The subject of the videos are teachings of the Bible. So it isn't exactly slapstick comedy. In fact it is more lecture type.

I have read that this is ok if you can keep the attention of the audience through other things popping up on the screen such as links to websites and other information such as verses they can read along with.

But I am new to videos so I could use some ideas on background, music and sounds, and just overall how to grab someones attention and keep it for a 30 minute presentation.

How you you suggest making a video?

You better invest your money in getting a new cam. A DSLR, preferably. There are so many kinds of software that you can use to edit your videos, too. You have Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, etc. For the music, there are sound beds and instrumentals that you can purchase online. There are the ones that you can get for free, too. All the answers to your questions can be Googled, my friend. Good luck to you!

It's better if you invest in a camera to start with. You can buy a HD Flip Cam on Amazon for $50 and a flex tripod for $3 on ebay. I would highly recommend that. Video quality matters a lot with your audience.

I would also recommend you do keyword research so that the people watching your video are targeted and it's something they do want to watch.

Just watch other professional videos, study it and fashion your videos in the same way. Be yourself and just consistently shoot videos. I would also have a blog if I were you. The more ways for you to create content online, the better.

If you have a budget, you can also boost your post on FB. $10/day is more than enough to make it happen.

I do currently have use of an hd camera and have used it for the first time. I just posted the video to youtube the other day. If you care to see the channel to see the difference here is the link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJQ...GooqduX-7qsAWA the new video is titled "Contempt for the word of God - Why are there so many Christian denominations?"

I built my own teleprompter and it worked out great. Saved a few hundred dollars with a simple $1.39 foam board and a $1.00 picture frame. But I think the biggest problems I am facing are these:

    1. I need some editing software, but I don't want to pay a monthly fee of a large amount. The software I have is free but it seems to be hard to learn and it takes forever to do anything with. This may be due to my computer though being a low end computer.

    2. The sound doesn't seem too good. It sounds like a normal home shot video. How can I fix this to have no static or echo? I tried to use audacity and it removed the static for the most part but the echo is still there.

So...what editing software would you recommend, and what advice do you have for the sound? I use windows 7 by the way. Not mac.
