If you go to Amazon, Amazon will show you what are its current best sellers.
    Amazon Best Sellers

But do your research before you go in for a long journey!

It's not all the time that you have to follow the ones that drive the biggest amount of traffic. If you want to engage in better product promotion strategies, it's better to choose products that catch your interest.

      THIS.

You better promote things you are interested in, so much if you have experience them (if not previous, buy things you are promoting and write first hand reviews, this will help you both knowing the products and giving your users useful content).

      My advice:

1.- Make list of 10 most popular or profitable Amazon niches.
2.- Make list of 10 niches you are interested in.
3.- Find matches. You can also rank/give points to every item in both lists (for profitability and interest).

If one match, then that is it. If more than one, good, you can pick the more profitable, promote various at the same time (in same or different channels) or you'll have a fallback. If no matches, well, redo the first list with following most popular/profitable niches and repeat.

But long term it usually is not a good idea to promote stuff you have zero interest in.

Yup. It's very easy to go to Amazon and get a list of their top selling products. It's also very easy to choose a category of products then sort them by "Average Customer Review" to find the "best" ones in that category. Which is why I don't recommend doing either of those things.

Think about it: if it's easy for you to do these things, it's also easy for your customers to do these things. So what's the value you're providing that customers can't already get themselves on Amazon.com directly? Reviews? Well, they can get those too on Amazon.com (and most of them are more genuine, more trusted and probably better written than anything we'll ever write.) A product comparison matrix? Amazon often has those too -- and frankly they aren't very helpful anyway.

So again, what value are you providing your customers using these approaches? My guess: none at all.

This isn't to say that Amazon Affiliate sites don't work. But you don't start a business from the monetization method. You wouldn't, for instance, build a business based solely on your desire to take the American Express card, would you?

Instead, I recommend starting with the customer. What do they want? What's missing in their lives? What sort of information is hard for them to get that you can provide and present in a really helpful way? What are the sorts of great products that don't appear on any top 10 lists that you can present to your customers and they'll go crazy for? Those are the types of products you want.

So my advice, don't start an Amazon Affiliate site. Start a business. And as with any business, think about who your customers are, what they need and how you can give it to them. And if Amazon's affiliate program fits into that business, great. And if not, that's OK too. In my experience Amazon works well for us -- but I have no doubt that we could find the same products on any number of different affiliate programs, through drop shipping or by doing our own fulfillment. In other words, the value we create isn't dependent on Amazon, but we use Amazon because it's a great way to monetize the value that we create.about who your customers are, what they need and how you can give it to them.

It is easy to grab best selling products at Amazon.
You'll learn how to convert the best selling products with experience. Keep in mind
that the best selling products are often difficult to rank on Google (it's not impossible but
it could take many days/weeks if you don't have money for advertising/SEO).

Go to the following link to find what are the Top Sellers on Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers/zgbs

Find the category/niche you are interested in and see what you would like to promote.

    Hope this helps.

Although it's very easy to find Amazon's best selling products, that doesn't mean you should promote those products on an affiliate site --- because your competition is Amazon itself and all the other affiliate sites that are promoting the same products. Think of products or niches that people might not ordinarily go directly to Amazon to buy. Healthcare products might be a good niche. How many people go directly to Amazon to buy wheelchairs, yet Amazon has a ton of wheelchair products. Are they bestsellers? No. But at least you're not competing with a few million other affiliate sites.

Due to the time of year, there are lots of things you can sell. You should think about the holidays but also think about niches that you already own products in and know something about (will make it easier for you to connect with your potential customers and generate content for your site). Here are some ideas:

    Insanity by Shaun T.
Star Wars movies and toys - movie coming end of year (lots of big names)
    Samsung Galaxy S6
    Ipads/Ipad mini
    Macbook
    shoes - Jordan and Lebron
Foothall (American) - jerseys and the like of some of the more popular players
    video games
    televisions

Like I said, the choice is yours. Whatever niche you choose, just get something up and going. Now is the time when many marketers make the majority of their money because of all the products being released and what not.
