The days of super-cheap domain name registrations are over?

Every single time i try to redeem a coupon code at GoDaddy, this message appears:

"We can only offer such great promotions by limiting them to one per customer. It looks as if you've already used this type of promotion."

I tried many codes. So, i should buy with the normal price now? Or there's a solution?

    Create new account and then try.

    As well as try name.com
    namecheap.com

    U can get domains at cheap price sometimes there.

      I agree with Al. If you are serious about having your own business on the Internet this should absolutely be a non issue.

      Just get the Value meal at McDonalds instead of the Supersize, do that a couple of times and that ought to make up for it LOL

        the time you are spending looking to save a few dollars you could have been using the time to reach out at forums, through email and/or creating content to get you more than ten dollars worth of advertising

            The worst thing for the domain industry would be if everybody could register 1$ domain names. Pretty soon every single domain name you can think of would be picked up by some investor.

              I doubt it.

              I think the proliferation of cheap first year domains is simply a tactic to get you on their list so the registrar can send you all kinds of upgrades, other related offers (like hosting, web site development, privacy protection, etc, and then they charge you more for year 2 and beyond domain renewals.

              it's simply a marketing tactic to "get 'em in the door" so you can cross sell, up sell, down sell, and sometimes (dare I say it) . . . spam the heck out of your list of buyers.

      Geesh, do people realize starting a business with $10 and maybe some hosting fees and autoresponder ( less than $50 total ) is extraordinarily rare to find anywhere

    Everyone who has criticized the OP never, ever tried to buy a domain for cheaper than the regular $10? I don't think it has necessarily to do with being cheap. If you can save $8 while paying for a domain what is left of your overall budget seems to be better off than someone who spent $10 for the same purchase.

    I was able to get a domain for cheaper than the regular price via Godaddy by using an account I already had there. However, I don't remember exactly how I got the offer. I have tried again to get another domain at a lower price but it was not possible. I hope you find a discount somewhere.

    Have you tried with .xyz or .link domains?

    Google's new venture, Alphabet, got the domain abc.xyz... and they are starting to rank nicely!

    Oh, btw, they are $1/year on Namecheap

    When you have over a 100 domains saving $5 on each domain is a savings of over $500 per year.

    Of course the trick is to make sure you are with a registrar that you TRUST.

    For me that tends to be namecheap.com and name.com. I left Godaddy when Namecheap offered me $2.99 transfers. I think I transferred 112 domains that day, saving me $896 that I can use elsewhere in my business.

    It's been several years now, but if a reputable registrar wanted to offer me three dollar transfers I would happily do it all over again.

      The key verb in this discussion is "want". If a merchant intends to offer a given discount, then by all means, use it!

      The OP stated that he was told that a specific discount was one to a customer, and how could one circumvent this. Others chimed in to suggest using different email addresses, different IP's, different accounts, etc., i.e., how to cheat the merchant. This is a whole different animal.

        I would certainly have to agree with you there.

        Why would anyone want to cheat a merchant out of a few dollars and then build their entire business relying on the very merchant that they cheated out of a couple of dollars?
