    Hi
That is quiet an interesting niche and great affiliate product to promote if known how to correctly.
Because you are in a sports niche and horse racing, there are many ways to get targeted traffic for free your self.

There are many ways but I will share few ways that I have found very effective in my business to drive traffic.

1- Forum Marketing, Go in to popular forms on sports and horse racing and join in with discussion and help people who are asking questions in your niche and don't just promote your website. Make sure the forum like many others have some sort of signature that leads you to your website. Keep the communication going and post to what you know and give relevant information.

2- Blog Hopping, Go to your competitors website that have a commenting section and great traffic with a lot of communication. Join in the conversation and help out and normal discussion. People will start to know who you are and will want to know more about you and will visit your page.

3- Social media, I normally find a page in my niche with thousand of followers and become there follower. Read others people post and replies and interact and like people discussion and what they say about the post of the same niche as you.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS BUT I NORMALLY TELL PEOPLE TO STICK TO 1 OR 2 METHOD AND MASTER IT. TRAFFIC WILL COME OVER TIME AND NEED A LOT OF PATIENCE. DON'T EXPECT EVERYTHING TO HAPPEN OVERNIGHT BUT STICK AT IT AND SPEND 30 MIN A DAY ON THESE STRATEGIES AND YOU WILL SEE MORE TRAFFIC TO YOUR WEBSITE.

    HOPE THAT HELPED A LITTLE

That is a very helpful post indeed. If I am not wrong, this method can be re-used for many other big and evergreen niches too, not just sports. It is all about 'rinse and repeat'. Also agree with you about mastering one or two traffic methods rather than spreading oneself too thin

I would suggest bing ads. You get targeted quality low cost clicks.

This is the second time thanking Jahmeld in 20 seconds.

I agree that Bing ads offers the best bang for your buck these days.

The last time I was playing around with bing (last summer) I was paying around $.10 per click for USA clicks.

My method was to load a TON of keywords, and then chip down the bids as low as they could go. (So, this was essentially a "shutgun" approach to marketing, yet it wasn't too bad because essentially people were still clicking my unique ad and were from the USA, so the value of visitor was halfway decent).

If you can get your bids down to $.10ish per click, while at the same time keeping your demographic inside the states, it's hard to miss.

I'll be honest, I would focus on getting dirt cheap PPC clicks rather than expensive highly targeted clicks. It's too easy to waste a big budget unless you spend serious time tracking and tweaking. (You need an advanced marketing and engineering degree to return a profit on some of the high priced PPC engines these days, either that or a massive funnel).

That being said, be weary of "junk" PPC networks. That's specifically why I recommend bing, because it's possible to get cheap clicks, and Microsoft won't be sending too much junk traffic. (Unlike other traffic sites, which send you nothing but junk traffic).

Just my honest $.02, I'm sure some PPC guru will come yell at me later.

    Good luck.

FB ads is good. You need to know what you're doing though because if you don't, you'll be wasting a lot of money. Boosting your posts would be good. You should also comment on other blogs, would also be good if you can do some guest blogging for other blogs as well. Instagram should also be solid. You should also shoot some videos that are keyword rich for SEO.

      I hope that helps!
Lots of people swear by Twitter but personally, I am yet to get any clicks (forget about making money) from Twitter. Maybe I am doing it wrong

You might try OutBrain too, if your niche isn't in violation of their TOS. (I don't know).

I get good results from Reddit, but it takes a soft touch. You can't do direct marketing there.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

I suppose that can be tricky because Facebook is a global platform and timezones vary according to country. I suppose if you want to target say, USA people only, you may not be able to target Asian people, unless of course you have outsourced this job/don't sleep at all.

You can use Google Adwords or bing ads to initially drive some traffic to your site. Focus on your SEO to get long term traffic from Search engines.

Traffic is easy, but make sure it's good traffic. Use Bing Ads, Google Adwords, Facebook, and even some mobile advertising platforms. If joint ventures exists along with solo ads, use these. Be consistent with your free traffic strategy. Youtube, forums, and blogging are excellent ways to get good free traffic.
