How do you pick a niche to go into?

I look at clickbank and other affiliate sites to see what is selling, and look at how much people are paying for ppc ads for a certain niche. This gives me a good idea of what is currently making money and what isnt.

What else do you look for to help you find a niche you can successfully build a list in?

Hmm, interesting. Can you expand on that a little bit?

How much success have you had using that strategy?

Pick a niche that has a good search volume, but small enough that you don't have a ton of competitors. Usually these are niches that you could care less about - but are highly profitable. You will know more than what you want to know about the niche. Because of this, you will be able to create products for it, backend products, and even find affiliate products to promote to these people.

    Hello,

Try to sell something that you know about, use a custom Landing page, has to be super nice, if you want it to work right, now you have to lean all about IM and change things as you learn, this does not come easy, #2 said Flippa, is good to learn from, if you know what to look for.

Tip to use on getting starting, use only one niche on website, so one product and build site around this product only, now drive Free traffic to it, how, YouTube, Google+ , FB marketing, Twitter # tags SEO

A good search volume and one that falls in the following,

    Health
    Wealth
    Relationships

Micro niche down into one of those

Other then that just keep testing different niches. That's the best way to find your very own gold mine.

Like others have said, find a specific niche with high demand and low competition, build a squeeze page and sales funnel around it, and send a stream of traffic to it by using facebook ads, Solo ads, and Adsense.

You pick a niche based on a topic that you have deep knowledge and a passion about. Otherwise, regardless of the opportunity, you'll soon lose interest in it. Hopefully, the niche you choose will have good opportunity for ecommerce, direct product sales, affiliate program income, Google AdSense, or all of the above.

Start with your passion. What are topics are you interested in? What motivates you to share with others?

Find where that audience is and start connecting with them.

    Ask them what they want.

Provide solutions based on their needs, wants, pains, problems.

All that stuff is great, but when you're first starting out, it really helps if you choose a niche that you're familiar with -- like a hobby in which you already own and know about some of the products. This will not only make it easier for you to write content, but will save you from having to purchase a product just to write a review about it.

If you are confused about how to pick a good niche, you can ask yourself - what a niche would be your passion. You can pick one niche. Make sure that the niche is in the high demand so you can make money.

Choosing a niche is not at all. You have to get expertise on that particular field or niche, so, that you can add some more value to it. For example if you are gadget freak than tech niche would be best for you as you can put 100% of it.

One important tip that might be useless to most people (because only the 10% elite use it).
Know yourself. Know your DNA. Know your strengths.

For me i should search for something that has a good search rate before listing them out and deciding on something that interests me.

Some people would tell you to go where your passion leads, but that doesn't always bring you to something profitable. We are all here to pick up streams of online income so to me its profitability before passion.

If an uninteresting niche can earn you $10,000 a month, who wouldn't be passionate about it?

My main factor is whether or not I've spent money on the niche. Or could see myself spending money on the niche as a consumer.

you cant find a untapped niche unleast it is some brand new hype..
its best to look for sub-niches.

    example:
    main niche = "dentist fear"
    subniche = "children dentist fobia"

not sure about my english but you get the drift.

I have researched hundreds of markets for my clients and the best way to pick a niche is to find a market that has a need you can solve. I find markets by using the Google Keyword Planner and I analyze keywords to see 1.) how keywords relate to each other 2.) which receive the highest traffic 3.) which has the highest CPC.

Next, I would take this data to create and see a larger picture of my market's goals and desires, then build an Authority Site to provide information for that market. However a market can be much too broad so finding a niche to drill down into would provide a few advantages.

The first advantage is that you will distinguish your business / offer as unique within the larger market. The second advantage is that you can build an Authority Site using the video content of other people in that market. This allows you to be piggy back with your offers and save time by not having to create the initial content.

You can also learn from your competition and then by studying what they are selling and how they are educating, you can carve out your own very targeted segment. If you choose a niche in an area that you are passionate about, you can learn as you build your Authority site and then can comment by sharing your own insights on the subject matter.

    Hope this helps you....

I also recommend picking a niche that you know about since it will be easier for you to write content and know the market. But also try to make evergreen niches like money, debt, insurance, health, diet.
