Although i do agree Googling your question would have sufficed, the above reply is completely unnecessary. Competence is also a part of marketing, my friend.

Well, none of that was shown by the OP. Do you actually know what the word means?

That's why this forum has gone downhill faster than a runaway train.

          Yes, my friend

and i was referring to you, not the OP.

I've seen three definitions of sniper marketing so far. One is what used to be called guerrilla marketing--which is to use back linking techniques to dominate first page of google. Some of the techniques are not pretty.

The second I just found following positivenegative kind response and link. Funny enough it seems like he actually answered the OP question with actions in a very vivid way--and maybe a display of brit sense of humor.

Here is a place explaining it:

              What Is a Violator in Advertising? | Business & Entrepreneurship - azcentral.com

when it comes to local marketing, it seems to be related with graffiti and other art-like use of public spaces to advertise your business.

None of these definitions seem to be happy choices for the long run. They could work short term though.

I remember the days when replies in this forum were friendly and helpful.

Agreed that this post, like most threads here these days, probably exists just to get some clicks on a sig. Not sure what the solution is, but something should be done. And I don't mean the OP, but in general.

You're in a forum that is populated by fakers, bullies, sharks, and other villains. Some of them are just "forum warriors"* while others are evil charlatans out to get your money. True story.

Either way, you won't find much in the way of quality here...and no...it isn't much different than it was before Freelancer bought it. In fact, it's better, because a lot of the old forum warriors (fakers) have been driven out. Take everything here with extreme skepticism.

Me? I'm here for karma and entertainment. I've made more money than 99% of people, so that puts me in the 1% of internet marketers and I know this industry inside in out. I just don't have the heart to BS people.

So I get some karma and entertainment by spreading truth in a very seedy and very corrupt area.**

I looked it up with quotes and found nothing. It doesn't seem to be a term that is actually used by anyone.

If you're just asking a question that you could easily answer yourself with a Google search, it would be good idea to click "Go Advanced" and click "do not show my signature."

But then again, no one else bothers, so...

      Here's an offline (humorous) example.

Three buildings, side by side. The one on the far left sports a sign saying "$5 Haircuts." The one on the far right adds a sign that says "We fix $5 haircuts", sniping customers from the first.

The building in the middle then adds a sign that snipes from them both --- "Enter here."

Since the OP said "snipe marketing" and not "sniper marketing" . . .

I'm assuming we're talking about something related to the snipe hunts I was often invited on as a Boy Scout that involved catching those hairy brown rodents that hide in the woods at night and are so fast it's nearly impossible to coax one into a burlap sack by pleading "here snipe, snipe, snipe!"

        Child abuse . . . that's what it's called these days.
