Is the sales funnel the same as 2-3 yrs ago?

It has been awhile since I dable into internet marketing and I was wondering if the sales funnel have changed or if it's the same as I left about 2-3 yrs ago.

I still remember the sales funnel to be something like this:

Traffic --> Squeeze Page --> Upsell --> Downsell => Autoresponder

OR

Traffic --> Sales Page --> Upsell --> Downsell

Is there anything that have been added, changed or removed from this standard sales funnel?

Your thoughts please

I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses on how sales funnels have changed, but the truth of the matter is that it really depends on your business and your subscribers/customers. A lot of people will adjust their business to fit certain sales funnel idea and that's not a smart move....make the funnel fit the best approach for your products.

So while others will probably say something different, there is no such thing as a standard sales funnel. Be original and you'll sell a lot more merchandise.

    Hi
I will try my best to explain how it works for the product and service I am in

TRAFFIC --> SQUEEZE PAGE --> BRIDGING PAGE (VIDEO) --> FRONT END (CHEAP PRODUCT OR SERVICE)

Front end product should be no more than $20 and if they are in then it carries on to

FRONT END --> UPSELL --> DOWNSELL (if they say no to upsell) --> MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION (recurring income)

Then according to what the customers do you just have a auto-responder leading them to high sales ticket any where from $1000+

That is the way I have my one set and it works great. But i have to say your on the right line and i don't think there's much different to few years ago but the video marketing is going better and Webinars. having them will increase your optins to buyers.

I hope me sharing the strategy can give you a better vision and you can come out with something more better works well for you in your niche.

Just get your funnel out there and put it to work. Then start testing and tweaking to come up with an optimized funnel that fit your needs.

A basic Funnel works as good as it has 5 or 10 years ago.

Of course there are ways to make it have more "bells and whistles" but the foundation is nearly the same, imo

These are two EXAMPLES of funnels.

They are not the ONLY funnels.

No "standard" funnel exists, except in the herd mind.

There are only three basic elements to funnels. Most people miss one of them completely.

You need to be able to MEASURE your funnel and each of its steps so that you can MANAGE it.

There are stages where it's going to do well, and others where it will break.

And you can add on bells and whistles.

Most "magic bullets" are bells and whistles. They're marketed as the end-all-be-all to conversion but they are most often untested or worked once by luck in a single niche with a single product from a single seller and are not universally applicable.

First you need to bring in traffic.

Then you need to qualify that traffic into buyers and non-buyers.

And then you need to convert the buyers.

    Everything else is window dressing.

I wouldn't say it's changed all that much.

For me, it's greatly dependent on the traffic source and what I want to accomplish.

Sometimes it goes to a squeeze, sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes the offer is for something low ticket, sometimes it's for high ticket.

Sometimes I use an ugly VSL, sometimes I use a long form sales letter.

    Whatever gets the results.

If you have a basic sales funnel- squeeze- upsell, then autoresponder for education and main product or service, that will still work. What I am doing is more complicated funnels based on what the prospect does. If they don't click on a partcular link about a specific topic, I'll send an email giving them a choice on what they are interested in, and then a different funnel would be implemented with that in mind, FrankKern says it's kind of like choose your own adventure. If you have infusionsoft or Ontraport, this can be done. If you don't, there are other way to 'hack' the process.

Doing A/B split tests will help you answer some questions. Every niche and business is different and depends on your audience too. I recommend you to perform some tests first to see which is the most profitable to you.

Also recurring income from monthly subscriptions is great. You can try that too.

This one. In my case, i send traffic to the squeeze page, then a special offer, then let my email autoresponder do the rest of the work of converting them into customers of a different product i'm selling.

I don't think funnels have changed much over the years. You're still turning leads into sales, asking for frequency of sales, leading the buyer to buy higher end products.
