Does Anyone Use Kaspersky Antivirus? I Need A Tester...

Hi Warriors,

We have a couple sites that we're working on selling and another marketer that we work with some got a Virus Notice when she visited both sites. She is using Kaspersky, which from what I understand is very sensitive compared to most AV software.

I don't get anything with my AV software and neither did another friend of mine (we both use different AV software).

I need to find someone else using Kaspersky to check and see if they get an alert too. I'm wondering if there really is something embedded there that only Kaspersky seems to find or if it might be a problem on her machine.

Any help would be appreciated.

The sites are...

www.cashfromcamtasia.com

www.explosivesocialmarketing.com

Thanks so much,

Scott

I used to use Kaspersky to see what all the fuss was about and it really slowed my computer down, I would never recommend it to anyone I thought it was that bad.

I have always stuck with the free AVG and it has never let me down, no problems.

Kapersky always throws up false positives that's why I wouldn't use it.

I don't think there is anything to worry about, My av never picked up anything and it's good at finding nasties on websites.

        Scott, I'm getting access blocked.

You need to contact Kaspersky (go to their forum) and report the problem
and have them look into it.

There may very well be a trojan script installed. It happened to my site
        once.

That's strange. I have searched the entire site to see if I can find the problem and can't.

Also, the link to Kaspersky's Virus Encyclopedia that you have above to describe the "Trojan" goes to a page that says "Virus Encyclopedia -Can't find virus record."

I have contacted Kaspersky's "Lab" to have someone check it out and see if they can find the issue for me.

      Thanks again,

      Scott

Scott, check your code, cut and paste it into a notepad, usually such scripts get inserted at the very bottom of the page. The infection is on the iframe - i.e. the URL where the script is loading from and trying to present on your page.

I looked at your source and you have some suspicious looking javascript towards the bottom.

Remove that and it will probably be ok.

I left off the opening and closing script tags so it wouldn't mess up the board.

P.S. If you haven't made any modifications to your templates through the wp admin you should be able to upload all of your template files from your harddrive to fix it.

I use Kaspersky IS 7 and both the sites are working fine!

PS: If configured properly, Kaspersky is not resource-hungry. (Mine uses max 12 MB of RAM)

I removed that strange javascript code and hopefully that fixed it. At least it appears that it fixed it.

Not sure what that code was or where it came from.

      Thanks everyone for the help.

I would change your hosting & wordpress passwords immediately and make sure you're running the current version of WP.

More than likely, someone manually placed that script in your template.

      Hi Gail,

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely change my hosting passwords.

The site doesn't use Wordpress though. It is set up on RAP.

      Thanks again,

      Scott

I use Kaspersky and it is scared of everything

However, It doesn't find anything sinister on both of those sites.

I disagree with the resoursehog comment, my pc runs pretty fast but the security pop ups are a pain in the backside.
