Gamechanger - Amazon Introducing Text Ads

In a surprise move amazon are introducing text ads (currently in beta).

Likely to be nearly identical to Google’s text ad format, Amazon Text Ads will probably utilise keyword-based targeting.

The ad parameters and character counts will probably be identical to Google and many of the campaign structure and settings will be similar.

It is rumoured that you will also be able to upload your Google campaigns direct to Amazon too.

This will change the game for those of us selling ecommerce products. I'm looking forward to the changes as i've already built a six-figure a month business using amazon ads (and a few other things too).

Keep your eyes open for announcements.

    I have been using em. Also, it was super. Each click costs my three pennies on average. Call good old amazon up. Hard to believe such a deal is available to us. All the best to you.

    Awesome news! I will be moving more to Amazon products on my own blog as it will be a great fit and was considering goigle text ads. But, I would much rather go with Amazon. Thanks again for sharing.

    This is SO strange! Think about it.

    AdSense/AdWords began in 2003. Why in the world is Amazon joining the game 12 years later?? Especially at a time when adblocking has publishers scared as sh*?!?

    IMO, Amazon is panicking. It has a failed Fire Phone, drone resistance, and some really, really bad press lately over its employee treatment. When there is panic, there are questionable business decisions.

      IMO, Amazon is panicking. It has a failed Fire Phone, drone resistance, and some really, really bad press lately over its employee treatment. When there is panic, there are questionable business decisions.
      Amazon's stock price took a slight dip in the third week of August (I believe that coincided with the news about their treatment of employees) but have since rebounded to previous levels. Couple that with the fact that their stock price has increased ~65% in the past 12 months, I would have to say that your assessment is somewhat flawed.

      With an R&D budget like Amazon's and Google's, it is only prudent to recognize mistakes early and cut your losses.

    Can only those people selling something on Amazon advertise via these text ads or is it available for anyone to advertise his/her products via these text ads?
