Please take a look at this page and tell me if you would buy from this page. If not, then what should I do to it?

I think I get what you are trying to do but it does seem a little crowded to me but that is just me. I am not really interested in the subject matter so I would not buy.

Thanks but the ration of people who download vs. people who buy is about 5%. I would really like to bring that number to 10.

So people are downloading but not purchasing? That doesn't seem like it would be an issue with the page (though it could use some cleaning up as others have suggested). Have you tried doing some price testing? I have checked your software out and wouldn't buy at $37 but probably would at a lower price point such as $19.95.

Fewer people are downloading...I get hundreds of people a day to this page...they are my target audience (I know from the keyword that they used on google to get to this page)...but few of them download.

My eye did not know where to go to begin reading.

If I went to the top left, the first things that it said were:

Motion Technologies, Home, Downloads, About Motion Technologies, Contact Us, Forum...
Then it seemed cluttered to me. Just my opinion, but it gave me so many options that I didn't know what you wanted me to do, and there's always that old saying in the world of IM, "A confused mind always says, 'No.'"

Maybe you already have mini-sites or landing pages in the works that take care of this, but I'm left wondering why I would want this. Present the problem and show why your product is the solution that I'm looking for.

I agree with Jillian, you need to have the eye go right to the offer. This page is laid out more like a map than a web page. I would go with the standard one column.

Lose the Google ads. They make your site seem less professional, and more like a blog.

    From the 1st page:
Now that you know what the Craigslist Reader is, the better question is why shouldn't you download the Craigslist Reader? There is so much you can do with this Craigslist search tool. You can:
Click any of those links and you go to ezinearticles.com. This is confusing, to say nothing about the fact that you have just sent your visitor away from your site. Create your own content related to those links, but say it on YOUR website.

To me, the Featured Articles blocks don't really apply to the product. I'd suggest eliminating them, and using the content they link to in a bonus for downloading or buying. And switch the FAQ & Tutorials blocks.

One more thing. To answer your question, Yes, I would buy (and might in the near future) from your page, because I understand (I think) what can be done with the results. Problem is, at least on the first page, you do a crappy job of pushing the benefits of the product. Lots of features, but few benefits.

OK, two things. Check your copy:
Rely to Craigslist ads without leaving the program.
before most other users even have a change to view the ad!
Just click the "Reply," button found
You can copy and past the feed link
I found these just skimming. I'm betting you've got a bunch more.

Thank you guys for these wonderful ideas.

I will remove picture and add video, and create an eBook and let them download that instead of sending them to ezine articles.

Jillian, how can I remove clutter from the page? I was always told that you want to put everything at the top so that people don't have to scroll down to see...am I wrong?

Aronya, you mentioned that the page mentions features, but not benefits. I am confused....isn't that same thing? Could you give me an example?

I think have a description of the product on the left and the download buttons on the right, and move everything else down below. I agree with the above, I didn't know what to do, and didn't even notice the download buttons the first time a looked at the page.

      jkiley,
First of all...GREAT WORK on getting started!

I'd agree with some of the others...it's very busy and the immediate benefit doesn't hit you on the side of the face as soon as you land on the page.

I'd recommend two books that would probably really help you improve this:

      Don't Make Me Think (Krug)
      Save The Pixel (Ben Hunt)

They both deal with the #1 issue that I see on this page...

      Hope this helps!

Thank you. The software has been featured as the most powerful tool for searching craigslist...and it does work...believe me....lot of midnight oil was burnt (and still being burned). I do get 2 to 3 sales a day, but I get 300-500 people a day to that page everyday, but few people download it, eventhough they are coming to the page using the right keywords (I know this from google analytics).

I think all of you are saying that there is too much going on the page. I was always told that you want to put everything at the top so that people don't have to scroll down to see...am I wrong?

If somebody could be more specific then I will really appreciate it.

That's what should hit the side of your face, as Jack puts it.

You need to have a traditional headline and sales page telling us that you have what we want and here's how to get it.

Lose all of the clutter as others have said and I guarantee your conversions will go up.

People don't want to think. People on the Internet want to think even less.

Tell us what to do in a way that we don't have to think about it and we'll do it.

Like it or not...good old fashioned sales hype works. The farther we get away from that, the less conversions.

Buy buttons need to be bigger and the credibility logos "Yahoo, Msn..etc" need to be a little smaller and the opacity on them needs to be taken down.

Buy buttons need to be the MOST colorful.

Also there's just too much cramped up toward the top.

    eliminate little things.

    less is more.

Not enough white space for sure, it is a bit confusing to the eye, but I do think it looks professional.

I would buy mainly because I hate not being able to search in all the cities at once when I am looking for something.

My purchase would be based on the product not the presentation. I do think the idea of a demo video would be WAY better than just a screen shot.

There is just something not right with the blend of colors, I didnt study it very long, but something is not right.

It has GREAT potential in my opinion, where did you get the program?

Just normal stuff. I've seen a lot of crappy applications lately.. When it doesn't crash or flake out when using it heavily I'm impressed. I've done mongo searches , canceled, repeated the search, changed settings, etc. It's solid.

I think you should go for the "register for a free trial" like you did with one of the other apps. There is a lot of information on the sales page, which is nice, but a simple squeeze page with a video may be better. The only way to know is test. They really just need to get it installed and get hooked on it.

Once someone downloads it and tries it they are more likely to buy. I know I'm probably going to buy once the trial runs out. It's really useful.

To be true I would say no. The page has a lot of options for the reader and there is a very high change of users getting distracted. Also the header and footer are not the same color and you have links to other services and this is not what you should have on your sales letter page, you want your readers to stay on your sales letter and read it all and you don't want to give them a chance to say no to your product or just go away from it.

Overall this sales page will kill your conversion and I think that this will be difficult for you to make couple of sales with this sales letter. Listen to me and hire someone to do a minisite design for you. Have a Software Box designed for your software and don't just use a screenshot of the software. Overall your site should have same look and feel and you should only have links to your Privacy Policy or Disclaimer on your sales page and nothing else.

Hope it helps and if you have any more questions just contact me.

P.S. If you think you can't design the graphics yourself or you don't have the skills for it then I can do it for you FREE but I won't be available to do any of that until one week. Send me a PM if you are interested.

To answer you question, I would Buy from this page. I'm very fussy about website Design & Usability. Look in my sig.

I would change a lot but I'm too tired right now to check your work.

    A few quick changes:

Where is Guarantee Logo, you need a Headline and sub-headline...maybe I'll come back and make more changes.

It looks Credible though so I would at least stay on the page if I came here.

Several people have mentioned the layout on this site. Here are a couple of rules-of-thumb you may want to keep in mind.

    1. Typography studies have shown that the eye finds it hard to track lines of text once they get longer than about 75 characters. The text on your page runs over 150 characters wide... that may be why people are telling you it feels "busy" and "cramped" -- it's just hard to read. Shorter lines in the 60-70 character range generally feel fairly "natural" and comfortable. Notice that magazines and newspapers break up text into columns for exactly that reason.

    2. Many of us baby boomers don't have quite the visual acuity that we once did. As a courtesy, try a slightly larger point size and line spacing that's a bit more open. It'll be appreciated by us old farts more than you know. We might even stick around long enough to read about your product.

Your basic layout is good, with relatively short paragraphs and good distribution of page elements, so making the text bigger (and with shorter lines) will go a very long way toward giving your site a more comfortable and readable feel.

    Good luck with it.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,
    Charles

I get wery scared when reading that I have to download Microsoft .NET Framework! What the hell is that??? and I have a license key? No i do not. Do I have to pay for this?

If possible I would move this instructions into the setup manual you get after purchasing the product. I would make the process as simple as humanly possible.

Also you need to make the logos (Yahoo, lifehacker) in their right size. Now they are very twisted and unclear. You should be very happy to have these testemonials. You make a testemonial section down the page, and copy some of the benefits the different sites wrote about your product.

You've been hammered pretty well about it looking busy and not being organised as most sales pages are... I asked myself what does it do for me... and besides needing some bullet points and taking me on a journey step-by-step until I just have to download it, the following info stashed in your sales page tells me most of it:

Although the concept of Craigslist is great, it does have a flaw. That flaw is your inability to perform multi-city, statewide, or nationwide searches. That is until now. Meet the Craigslist Reader; the search tool that compliments Craigslist.

It is a desktop application that serves as a search tool. Now, you can do more than just search your local city page. You can search all of Craigslist, your entire state, or multi-city listings. Why do you need a software program? To save time in searchting thru multiple cities, to get alerts for new items, easy navigation, etc.

I could wrap my head around that pretty well. As for having more people download it...let them know that you are having a limited time free download that you will pull when xxx of them have been downloaded.

Just my 2 cents worth, Peter Soos
