Weird browser pop-up to increase return visits?
The other day I was doing some Facebook Insight research for the Anti-aging niche and found a popular site where a lot of my target female market was going, womanfreebies.com . So I visited the site to see what info they had...
The day after that I was browsing the web and I got this weird pop up on the browser: http://imgur.com/z9Yb3dY
(just in case the link gets deleted, the popup says "Nameofthesite.com - This site has been updated in the background"
I'm using Chrome and I have a mac.
That message keeps on poping up every once in a while..
The questions is: How can this be done?? The site is not bookmarked or anything. I've never seen this before.
***UPDATE: This was caused by an malware in one of my chrome extensions, 'awesome screenshot'.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Kevin
