Can you explain your question? Are you asking if everyone's hard work is worthless and it is just pure luck??

    No; it's a marketing medium.

The truth is, OP, the pink elephant is quite independent of the square-shaped low-hanging fruit of SEO, and speaking in terms of purely passive income, video cubism is never the sole definition of internet marketing but, conversely, entirely the complete definition. If you see what I mean.

Forget 'IM' for now and ask yourself how many new businesses fail?

Is it just luck that a new business succeeds or is it hard work and inspiration? Is it taking time to research before starting out and knowing about the market they are launching into. Is it knowing the figures and understanding break even points and ROI? Is it putting the right message, to the right market, through the right medium at the right time? Or is it luck?

Now why is any of that different toi online?

What kind of question is this, there is no lottery system. It's a matter of setting yourself up for success.

    Cheers.

Just because you fail doesn't mean the outcome rests on chance.

Own up to your failures, suck it up, and do things differently the next time.

Its all about focusing your efforts and persevering until you get results. If you think IM is an instant cash machine that gets you money after a week of work, i'm afraid you are very mistaken.

IM is almost like any other business except that we are not constrained by physical limitations because we use the internet as our medium.

If you are thinking of jumping in and striking it right instantly then perhaps you have a better chance trying the lottery.

This is such dangerous advice (and so often repeated its untrue).

If you are doing the wrong thing, or in the wrong market STOP persevering will not help you it will send you to the work house.

In a lottery system, the winners are chosen in a random way. All participants have an equal chance of success.

That is certainly not the case with Internet Marketing. The participants that are successful have done something to set themselves up for success. Usually that means that they have planned, executed, and worked for their success based on a proven business model.

Since the vast majority of new business owners fail . . . people would be stupid to put a lot of money and time into IM if it were a lottery system with totally random winners. I certainly wouldn't be here.

    ASAP93,

Do you consider selling something and closing a sale sort of like buying a lottery ticket and winning?

If so, then you're perhaps selling the wrong products, be it an idea or a piece of software or a physical product or virtual real estate that you created on your own or is owned by someone else who gives you commissions each time you drive a customer that completes a desired action, or selling the right products to the wrong group of people, or saying and showing and offering the wrong things to the right group of people, or spending time selling in the wrong place at the wrong time, or any combination of these things ...

What you need to do is to sell the right products to the right group of people at the right time in the right place by saying and showing and offering the right things to them ...

IM isn't a lottery system, but I am beginning to see that luck does play a role, whether people want to admit it or not.

It's just that in IM you can increase your chance of getting lucky. And, yes, perseverance is necessary if you want to strike it very big.

An example is George Brown. He stumbled upon a way to rank small one page niche sites on google and make thousands of dollars on clickbank. His strategy is now obsolete.

Had he given up, and stopped searching, than he would not have found that strategy to get six figures from Google.

Everyone who you read of achieving sudden success spent most if not all of their time searching, testing, and experimenting until things clicked together and they got a pass.

You have to keep at it.

Also I think people really need to stop discouraging people from doing IM, and telling them that they will never be successful in it. It's very negative, and it's frankly not anyone's place to assert somebody else's business decisions.

Is that a deliberate attempt at irony?

To you point here's a scenario

A friend of mine has put together a training package showing people how they can make a living repairing gas street lamps.

He's spent money on guest blogging, banner ads, YouTube videos has a great funnel. Invested in a freebie, a trip wire and a backwards sales letter.

He's spent thousands on solo ads and PPC campaigns.

He's not made any money. Should I tell him to believe in himself, to keep going and that goog things will happen to good people.

Or should I be a friend and point out we don't use gas street lamps anymore so no one wants or needs the information?

IS IM(Internet Marketing) is a lottery system?
In that only a small percentage end up "winning," yes.

Everyone with a chance of winning the lottery has paid an "entrance fee." Most wanna-be IMers are unwilling (time or money). You can't play if you don't pay.

No lottery system my friend. Just another way to get your product promoted.

If you were selling cars for a living, think of internet marketing as just another medium or platform to sell your cars on. So you could do offline marketing, and combine it with online marketing, and reach more people - and boost sales - at a low cost.

Internet marketing is just the art of selling on the internet.

    Formula's:
Create product > sell it online > $
    or
    Sell someone's product online > $

Of course we have CPA, CPL, etc... but it all comes down to "selling"

not a lottery for sure, if you treat it like a real business and work on it as in all businesses.
If you just buy one-button magical solutions and sit back then it may be called a lottert maybe...

dom't be desperate, try to find out what the problem is by testing everything... Then look at the results, compare and modify. No magic. Then look for luck.

    regards
