20 bucks, three years of falling and puddle of inthusiasm

by grimgrinn 17 replies
Hello guys.
I wish i can say i am complete newbie in IM but it is not completely true. Ive tried to reach some money in the internet science approximatly 2012 and get fail after fail. I tried course of Xfactor for example and Xfacotr 2. Result was 20 bucks that i cant even withdraw. I tried to build affiliate shop for amazon. I tried to do arbitraje and lost my money. I tried blackhat like cloacking and doorways and meet the fail again and kindly lost my sofware invesments. So i think you can say i am 100% IM looser.
But for now i earn another 20 bucks with freelancing on upwork (done some programming - have a little skills in it) and stay of bootom of IM succes stairway again.
On the forums ive read lke guys do their first $100 with no money at all trough adsense or affiliate or whatever.
So before go and try again i decided ask for your wisdom. What path would you choose if you were in the beginning with 20 dollars now?
Thankyou. Hope for your understanding.

Your problem is you not sticking with something. XFactor type sites made me a half million $ +.

Get a real job, take a break, clear your head, and come back in a year. If you stick with it.

The people you read about who made their $100 a day through Adsense quickly are probably trying to sell you a course.

The only "quick" way to make money online is either freelancing, or having money to spend.

Otherwise, you've got a grind ahead of you. One that's very depressing if you're trying to beat your head against the wall every day, not actually accomplishing anything at all.

The better question is - what path should you, grimgrinn, choose?

    Consider your

    - Passions.
    - Experience.
    - Expertise.
    - Knowledge.

Use PEEK to help you decide on

    - Business Plan.
    - Marketing Plan.
    - Development Plan.

Tip 1: Concentrate on optimization and then traffic planning.
Tip 2: If possible, stick to PPL (pay per lead) offers.
Tip 3: Collect opt-ins from day one.

Is 20 bucks enough to get started? Sure it is!

    Give you an example...

    Website

Squeeze Page --> Thank You (PPL Monetized) --> Follow-Up Series (Warm Up & Monetize)

    Traffic

Learn how to rank videos for low-competition keywords and direct the traffic to 2 locations (mix it up):

    1. Squeeze.
    2. Blog Posts (Located on the back-end of your squeeze. Try to upgrade readers to subscribers.)

    Investment

For now, avoid spending money on coaching, eBooks, software.

    Here's what you need:

    1. Domain.
    2. Hosting.
    3. aWeber or Get Response.
    4. Popup Plugin (newsletter) for blog.

Number 4 may bump you above 20 bucks but it isn't essential, anyway.

Best of luck with everything, grimgrinn. If you have specific questions, hurl them on WF.

    Cheers - Tom

Forget stuff like affiliate marketing or so. You have no success with it now since 3 years! Focus on what you are good at. You are making a small income as a freelancer? You have limited programing skills? Work on that! Change that! Learn more about programing and offer your service on different freelancing plattform. This is what I would do.

I think that, perhaps, one of the reasons you have been unsuccessful in your ventures is that you tried to work things out for yourself. Well done to you for that. A lot of the successful Internet Marketers did, indeed, make it on their own. A lot more, like me, didn't. I struggled for a long time before I finally realized I needed a mentor. Now I'm making progress. Keep smiling!

Gotta start somewhere. I'd start on Fiverr or Ebay. Sell some old yet valuable stuff on Ebay, get more money, and let freelancing (and freelancing on Fiverr) take you to the top.

$20?!?! Nah -- you've got more than that, actually. In fact, with all that jumping around and experience with different tools, I'm sure you've amassed more than enough cold, hard...

First off you have jumped around a bit. Focus on one thing for now. Stay with the freelancing like Zodiax and Zouman said you need to stick what is working for you now.

Ask yourself are you seriously spending proper time actually working ? Don't know your situation but facebook, warrior forum and other social media are not what you should be doing. Don't worry about others claim 1/2 or full of it, or just snake salesman. You are not them and don't waste your time trying to compare yourself with them.

Make sure you spend a few hours a day on IM and getting better at programing. Your value increases as you learn more programing skills. Remember those skills can not be taken away from you.

You are not a looser by any stretch. A large section of this group do not make any money and leave IM every day. You have made some money good job.

    Forget about Blackhat all together.

You will gain confidence by taking on more freelance work, and improving your skills. This takes time and a lot of people try to rush the process.

    Good Luck

I want to add that sticking this out for three years says A LOT about your character.

People who stick it out will eventually become successful.

I have failed way more than you and the people who are successful fail way more than me.

I would suggest stop trying to find something to get into and do what you know.

Whatever you have skills in something that you can teach... If you know programming then stay in that niche...

      So for a random example...

Lets say you like puzzles and you enjoy rubiks cube (I just bought one)

You create a blog - about puzzles and offer your knowledge and insights on puzzles. For monetization you have banners of puzzles from amazon or maybe a puzzle course as an affiliate.

Now you need to be able to collect leads so you can promote to your list of people. So you put together a ebook "How to solve Rubiks Cube in 3 easy steps" and you offer this book for exchange of email.

You put the ebook on a squeeze page...

So now you have a BLOG - LIST - SQUEEZE PAGE

You now just have to promote and send traffic to your squeeze page and blog and you build a list and you offer them related offers... Stuff that helps your list.

If you haven't made any money yet your probably not focused on one thing and building a list

Zoumhem is right. You need to optimize what already works for you. You make money freelancing then you should figure out how to make more money from that. Maybe you can look for higher paying jobs on Upwork or charge a higher rate per hour? Maybe you can spend more time applying for jobs? Maybe you can work on acquiring more skills or getting better at the ones you already have?

Find out how to make more money with freelancing. Then when you've reached a comfortable income level try to add another revenue stream

My personal and biggest suggestion would to be to focus on better grammar. I'm not the best at speaking or typing, but I will tell you that grammar has an extreme relation to if someone is going to hire you.

I hired someone from India about 2 years ago and because she types so well, we're still working together to this day. She's improved her grammar 10 fold and is still continuing to learn more about the English vocabulary constantly.

It might sound simple.. but it's important.
