Internet Marketing Consultant?

Hi everybody,

I'm the owner of a small, niche e-commerce store selling high end (multi thousand dollar items).

We've been getting business through word of mouth recommendations for the past 3 years. It's great because our cost of acquisition for new clients is $0.

We'd like to expand our business though. We've established a small (but effective) affiliate network which is gaining us some additional business.

We're now looking into possibly getting into the SEM game. It's kind of complicated and I, as the business owner need some help with this. Are there possibly Internet Marketing consultants out there that we could reach out to in order get into SEM (and also improve SEO) for our business?

I was thinking of outsourcing this because I don't think our business is quite big enough at this point to hire a full time employee that could handle this.
Any input appreciated.

    Hello lebod

I am very glad to read your post, you can certainly find a lot of Internet marketing consultant here. But I believe most will not share their knowledge for free.

I suggest try to search and learn it not just on google but also on youtube.

I greatly agree that SEM is very important in expanding your business. It helps a lot as it does to mine.

    Thanks,hope this helps

Soooo....have you been tracking your existing customers?

    Are they on a list?

Do you have a way of communicating with them?

    If so, ask for referrals.

If not, get them on a list so you can communicate with them!

Find out why your existing customers bought from you in the first place, and then get them to communicate this reason to their friends (birds of a feather flock together) with an incentive to visit your site. You're sorting here, and it's effective.

    Hi Everyone,

We have set up different campaigns with our analytics to track sales sources. For ex. on Social media now and other locations.

Our particular customers come to us through online research. They basically become pro-sumers almost in our industry before coming to us.
This is kind of the challenge as well. Where Yelp, Google and other places might bring in "civilians" that aren't as well educated and might not appreciate the value of the product we offer.

I'll maybe try Adwords myself but it's honestly becoming too much for me to handle. Besides the manufacturing end of things, to handle the SEM would take up too much of my times.

That's why I thought that hiring a professional SEO and SEM expert might be beneficial.

    Hey lebod,

As a business owner that seems to have a healthy business, it's best if you get a consultant to do all this. The Internet marketing industry is a whole beast in itself and would take you a while to learn. Not worth your time if your main business is doing well.

Anyway, if you haven't found anyone still, I'd be happy to offer some advice or see if I can get you in touch with someone - just inbox me.
