Hey guys,

I'm a young entreprenuer based in London, I currently own a Salon and have been looking into methods of online marketing for my business.

I've came across people who are making big money selling t-shirts on T- Spring, affiliate Marketers, Blogs and email/text marketers etc

It's really exciting stuff and I'd love to get more involved with things and how to make a healthy income online.

So I guess what I'm asking for is some tips and advice for where and how I can get stuck in and start making some money!!

Spend time right here on the forum observing, watching and reading. Use the search function to delve into topics that interest you.

Don't be in a hurry to spend money - there will be time for that later when you understand what you're doing.

Internet marketing is a discipline like any other career. So study and experience the foundational elements of marketing which will help you to choose a business type and niche.

Forget "get rich quick." It's not going to happen. But you can make a nice full time living if you approach this sensibly and as a business that takes effort and persistence.

      Thanks Steve,

Yes I agree there are rarely any 'get rich quick' schemes in life everything requires hard work and persistence, but at the same time i am impatient (If that makes sense lol)

I hear success stories of people earning 20k per month or 6 figures a year etc, are these realistic goals with this type of thing?

Any tips on areas I should focus on as a beginner?

I will definitely be reading a few threads here!

        Hey King,
I think learning the basics of Affiliate Marketing along with some Email Marketing is a good place to start.

Its pretty reasonable to get going.

You really need to decide what kind of Niche and product you might want to promote/create.

Not sure if it is gong to be in the hair and beauty niche ???

Im glad you are 'excited' but remember the novelty will wear off and there will be times it will not be so 'exciting'
But that's when you pull through and that's what can separate the winners from the loser

Most people struggle for several months to several years before it all clicks with them. Even then, the eventual failure rate is high like it is with all businesses.

I'd suggest you spend some time reading any of the hundreds/thousands of threads where:

    1. People have struggled for years and haven't made a dime even after investing hundreds or thousands and trying everything under the sun.
    2. People that get shot down because they have a site claiming to make $20,000 a month or six figures a year yet they come here asking for advice on how to get traffic, or how to make money quickly before the mortgage payment is due.

This isn't to be negative but to have a more balanced idea of what the real situation is.

Like Steve said it's possible but it's not likely to happen quickly and it all has to be treated as a business instead of some kind of little hobby.

    Welcome to the forum.

You have much to learn, so first don´t start buying WSOs or else you will be broken soon
As Steve told you research inside the forum, read posts about the topics that you want to learn. Try to learn one topic at a time.

A good suggestion should be SignUp to the War Room, it's a private section of the forum with the best resources available, where many of the warriors offer for free, you can learn a lot over there. The War room, it's a Yearly Membership (I don´t remember the price) but it worths every penny. If you want to spent money start over there, if not search inside the forum since it has tons of very useful content.

You own a Salon in London and you want to waste your time peddling T-Shirts ?
You should be raking in the cash being a Salon owner, unless of course you're not being truthful........

      lol you caught me -_-

in all seriousness, my business just passed the 1 year mark last month, its making a profit but I'm hardly "Raking it in" and I havnt claimed to be either.

I'm a budding entrepreneur, so i like to explore ways to make money be it glamourous business owner or "peddling T-Shirts"

If I can make a extra 20k online why not ?

Since you already own a local business, you might want to ask your current customer base to follow/like your social media accounts.

Use promotional content to 'infiltrate' the local networks of your fans on social media.

For example: offer an 'online only' discount coupon code they can redeem offline.

Online marketing for your offline business (salon)

    and having an online business

    are distinct.

    Which do you want?

Not that you can't do both, of course.

But the questions, answer, and pathway to those are different.

    Subjects to research:
    Email marketing, (Email) List-building
    Sales Funnels
    Attraction Marketing

Get the most out of your existing customers at your saloon via email marketing.
Get their emails, offer them new services via email, announce your discounts for limited times...

give it a try. This way, you will be starting your online venture on one of the most popular online technique, email marketing and connecting to your existing business.

    I hope this helps,

What about starting with a blog and Instagram and/or Facebook presence for your salon. Not only will you give yourself the opportunity to get more local business, but you will also be building a global following that you can monetize further over time whether that be through teaching others what you have learned (specific to services business, salons or business in general) or become a "guru" on hair style and fashion if that is your thing.

T-shirts and "stuff like that" typically do better when you are building and growing your brand.

Thank you all for the comments.

In reguards to the salon, I recently hired a company to run some Facebook adds for me, I'm pretty sure its something I can do myself but I'm working on that.

I'm planning to set up a text/email marketing platform to stay in contact with clients.

I also plan to sell T-shirts (which is completely unrelated to the salon) and I have a great Niche for this.

Has anyone heard of or used AudienceDrill or FaceSniper? do they work?
