How to make $$$ with ClickBank?

by gotty
29 replies
I want to bring in a supplementary $100 - $3000 per month with ClickBank to my income.

I'm not trying to become rich off this - not trying to quit my job. Heck even if the situation is presented.. it's not what I am looking to do.

Here is what I have:
- Web Dev experience.
I can make my own websites set up hosting no problem.

-
I have set up my ClickBank account.

What I am not to sure of
-
Once I set up my page, how do I drive traffic? I have no SEO experience at all! Articles?

- Do not have a good budget for adwords or other ppc - and honestly have had a bad experience.

- Basic knowledge on how to set up a converting ClickBank Product through my webpage...
I feel like having users get to my page, then click on a link to an article, and then a clickbank squeeze page is WAY too much. Do people really convert this way?

      Hi,

I would like to join a cost per lead affiliate program and wish to earn money by giving leads (Example : Signups to money making programs) to programs. I don't have any good idea about it. Please tell me some good affiliate programs for my website's niche.

      My website - www.genuineonlinefreejobs.com

My website niche - Online jobs / MMO.

[Also, I heard about shareasale and I've applied to join shareasale. But, they've rejected my application. I think using free email address is the main cause for disapproval. Share a sale had a good affiliate program where it pays $0.50 for leading people to complete panel place market research sign ups. But, I con't participate on that program as my application was rejected twice.]

I think clickbank is not a good choice because the products related to my website's niche seems to be scam and there are no CPA or CPL projects, most of the are cost per sale programs.

Please guide me to choose good affiliate program.

      Thanks once again.

Adwords is a waste of time when your first starting out, especially if your promoting affiliate products. Also be sure if you do advertise, the specific program allows for paid advertisements of their product by you. Many do not allow it.

Why do you say Adwords is a waste at first - what should I resort to?

As to what my idea with clickbank, inorder for you to earn more money. You need to select an affiliate product with big commission interest. Try to use newsletter so people get to subscibe and maintain proper article posting.

    - Once I set up my page, how do I drive traffic?
    That's the real skill needed.

    There are three basic ways:

#1 - Search traffic - If you get it, great, but chasing it is no fun at all.

#2 - "Free" traffic - This is traffic you get by working for it, in some form.

#3 - Paid traffic - Traffic you pay for and have the most control over.

Paid traffic has a steep learning curve and requires a well setup sales funnel.

What i hate about them is that they keep your first sale if you are not able to make another one before X amount of time (i don't recall) but that's frustrating for newbies.

A lot of people were reportedly making money with Clickbank and Bing Ads because their traffic is targeted and their rates are much lower than Adwords.

Clickbank is nailing the coffin shut for their affiliates.
    • Spammy lead capture vendor pages.
    • Clickbank navigation bar in the header of the vendor sales page.

Unless you know what your doing & bypass that lame vendor page you're giving your traffic away for free.

I recommended becoming an affiliate and promoting high quality products on clickbank.

    - Choose a niche market

    - Choose a product to promote

    - Create a squeeze page and free giveaway report that is congruent with the offer you're promoting as an affiliate

    - Create a 7 day email series and upload it to your autoresponder. I recommend promoting the product in at least 4 of the 7 emails and giving away free valuable info on the remaining 3 emails.

    - Send targeted traffic to your squeeze page

    - Survey list and find out what problems they're having and what solutions they're looking for

    - Duplicate the process in another profitable niche and/or work on creating your own products and replace the affiliate product

This is a good plan to start with but since the traffic part was left out Let me help with that

My very first traffic were not paid traffic this is good because it helped me understand what my audiences were looking for and I will explain.

When starting Blog commenting on related sites will not only bring in more traffic but you will learn from those in the niche what they are using to target the same audiences.

      Forum participation;
Here is where I started getting into the head of my audiences. The questions they ask, the problems they are facing. Plus again traffic

Q&A sites; Registering in such sites taking note of the type or questions asked there and trying to answer it. Sometimes if you see so many people asking the same question you can create a video host on youtube and link back to your squeeze page for more info.Again creating content that will rank in the feature when done right and will continue bring in more traffic.

These three will start getting you a reasonable amount of traffic and knowledge for a start.
      Hope this is helpful.

    What Trey Morgan said...

With a small addition of learning about your market, jumping into bed with them and finding out what keeps them awake, tossing and turning.

I'm currently (... ok I've been slack) playing with different squeeze pages and driving paid traffic to them. Not all paid traffic is the same, and different traffic works for different kind of offers (so I'm led to believe).

I did build out an auto-responder series but to be honest my biggest problem was getting the right keywords and right traffic source and playing around with clicks to my ad, then conversions on my squeeze page.

I'm working on getting these right first, then I'll work more on the auto-responder emails and following up.

Step by step. But my biggest mistake so far is not keeping on it daily. Stop for a couple of weeks and it takes a while to get back into it, remember where you left off.

    Consistency, consistency.

You can use Youtube videos to promote your clickbank products and order a cheap gig on Fiverr.com to rank your video.

I think you can promote products on Blogger and other networks but you’ll have to do your own research to find which ones are related to your niche!

I have no idea where this long concept came from. It's not how i sell Clickbank products. Just email marketing all the way. And people aren't dumb, they know an affiliate link when they see one. But most still don't care. They want a solution to their problem.

You should join and participate in the "Clickbank Success Forum". Google it and you'll see it.

In what niche are you looking to promote products? If you're in the IM/MMO worlds, don't limit yourself to clickbank. JVZoo and W+ have plenty of quality products to promote.

Create a squeeze page, offer a relevant giveaway, have a relevant OTO, have quality, engaging follow up emails promoting related products and offering useful information.

If you don't have much of a budget for paid traffic, you just have to put in more time generating free traffic. There are great suggestions in this thread, and there are countless warrior forum posts about generating free traffic.

You mention that it seems like a long process for someone to click a link to read an article to click on your affiliate link. While this exact process isn't necessary, there is logic to it. Warm traffic is going to convert better than cold traffic. Sure, you could just throw traffic straight at your affiliate link... but its never going to convert as well as traffic that has been through a funnel, pre-sold, or otherwise warmed up.

Adwords can get you "burnt" in a flash if your don't have any experience.
Then again, it comes back to the same thing, need to read and understand SEO a little first, some
basic will do. I believe in "shooting" first then you "aim", means get in there, start the site and
split-test as you progress to improve your site rankings. If you don't start, you will never know.

The other option is to use Facebook Marketing, taget your niche audience, set a small budget of about
$10-15 a day for maybe 15 days and set how you progress. Ensure you target your audience
to a page related to your niche or affiliate offers. Give out free quality content to build the trust. Offer as much good tips at the begining. There are many out there, just find one good tip or info and put the link into your FB page. I you have the "likes" and trust then you may start promoting your niche offers.

Here's a step by step process to make money with Clickbank that always work :-
      1. Choose a series of Clickbank products in the same niche to promote
      2. Create a free eBook about the niche to give away
      3. Create a squeeze page offering the free ebook
      4. Send traffic to the squeeze page
      5. Capture the lead coming to the squeeze page
      6. Deploy email auto responders with the Clickbank products (build relationship with your list and promote products)
      7. Watch the money rack up in your Clickbank account

Adding on to dlane1987 comment, Bing is a new frontier
that offer high conversion if you find the right audience.

Some of these tips may help.
      1. Find an audience that is desperate for the product.
      2. Find a niche that is only available online.
      3. Spy on your competitor on how they sell on Bing.
      4. Start with 10-20 keywords from Bing keyword planner.
      5. Keep improving on your ads until you make sale.
      6. Rinse and repeat and scale up with other niches.
