Accumulating Blog Traffic?

Hi there users of Warrior Forum. I'm fairly new to blogging and wondered if you had any ideas or tips to get your blog seen, and the ways you can promote it. Thanks.

One very effective way of getting traffic is to produce a video. I don't know what your niche is , but you will first have to do a keyword search to determine if there is a demand for your topic. Once you determine that there is a demand , create a you tube channel and produce at least one video to explain what your blog offers .Peak the interest of your subscribers. If you are answering questions that they may have , or solving problems which they are searching for answers to ( for example : teach your dog tricks ) , they will check out your blog. Be sure and capture their email info so that you can alert them when you have special offers or new posts etc.

YouTube and Facebook are both great places to promote your blog. But as well as concentrating on your own blog, are you getting out there commenting on other blogs in you niche?

Far too many people put lots of effort into their own blog but never comment on other blogs. This does bring visitors to your blog and the more you comment the bigger this grows.

Work out a strategy where you will maybe do 1 blog post a week on the same day every week, then devote a certain amount of time blog hopping and commenting on other peoples blog posts and bring people to you. There are many groups on Facebook I will tell you of 1 and it is called Blogging Mastermind.

Be careful on YouTube if you are adding links to your blog as I have had videos pulled down because Google don't like my banner ads which is annoying, so I tend to add my call to actions within the script of my videos now as this has happened too many times since I opened up an AdWords account to run ads on videos.

Most definitely put your blog posts on Facebook use all the socials and promote as much as possible.

Thanks for the tip. I do use social media and I comment on other blogs. And you said to devote time to comment on other blogs, but how much time do you recommend to comment on blogs? I just wanted to know a bit more about commenting on other people's blog posts.

If I had been working on my blog and I hadn't been commenting on other blogs I would maybe devote a whole day to simply blog commenting.

It all depends on how much time you have really but it is very important and should be part of your strategy.

So basically as much time as you can devote to this I would say. In time you will work out who's blogs are best to be commenting. Also don't forget to share other bloggers posts.

Another useful technique I could add here is leveraging the power of Reddit to write evergreen posts.

Evergreen lists posts are the ones that usually have higher ranks in the SERPs. So, you can go to Reddit and: Type your keyword in the search box; go to a sub-reddit if there is one. Check the threads to get keyword ideas from queries people have been consistently asking. Go write a post on it.

    Cheers!

    here are few of them:

    Write a daily action plan
Go 60 days without tweaking your site
    Refuse to place ads
When you launch your blog, have an inventory of 20-30 killer article ideas ready to go
Find the top 20-30 blogs in your space, and get acquainted with them
    Respond to your readers
    etc..

    Good Luck!

Be steady with your blogging. Blog daily if you can. Also set a time period that you will spend going out creating backlinks to your sites. Comment on other related blogs, maybe find a forum or two to post in. Be sure to share your post on your social media platforms and have the ability for other to share your post as well.... Give yourself 30 to 90 days and see how you are doing

A really good method is to find content that's already shared a ton, and then create something similar (but better). To add on to that, you can easily find out who is sharing popular content. And contact these people to notify them about your post.

If your blog is good quality, you should convert a bunch of these people into sharers of your blog.

Outbrain is a great place to get instant traffic to your blog. Of course you need some sort of marketing budget to get started.

You should be writing about current topics that are being discussed in your niche. Using the "news" tab in Google search can help you do this. You also need to be making sure that you title and tag your posts the right way. Once you've published it to your blog, you need to share it on social media and social bookmarking sites,

I will second producing a video and making sure that you are active on social media platforms - both updating your own and interacting with big names in your niche.

As far as your own blog, make sure that you are producing consistent, unique content and again commenting on other big blogs. Not just things like 'cool' or 'interesting post' but actually joining in on the conversation. If you are demonstrating your worth (offering good advice or showing that you are an authority in your field) people will respond to that. Getting a guest post on a big blog can drive quite a bit of traffic to your site, especially if you are offering high-quality content.
