I make $65 commissions for signing people up with Hosting. EASY. There you go new internet marketers. Go off and tell the world if they need a website to sign up through your very own little link! Hooray! Hey, if you sign up 50 people a month that's some nice cash in your pocket!

Wow, you make one Sale and you have the Cure for "newbieness' LOL

Congrats on the Sale but what really matters is can you turn it into consistent income ??

And it takes more than getting people to just sign through your Link.

You need to build a complete business around it.

Provide an newsletter or Ecourse describing how to construct your Site once you purchase Hosting, reviews of the top rated hosting etc..etc..

hey good idea but if you really want to add some value to your idea and ACTUALLY help out newbies, you would have highlighted to them that they need to build a website or blog....learn how to get traffic effectively and make conversions!!

You also might want to help them and guide them through the terms and policies of the hosting affiliate terms. For example you didn't mention anywhere that most hosting affiliate programs don't allow say PPC marketing for the affiliate link!

      Have a great day!

Umm, actually I made a lot more than 1 sale dude. Are you tapping my web browser with evidence? LOL. The point of the post was to help a new internet marketer get started, then they can come up with their own ideas on getting traffic. What works for me may not work for the next guy.

... AND This is the key. It's all about VALUE, VALUE, VALUE.

Simply pushing a link makes one look like a SPAMTASTIC salesperson.

      Not exactly a welcome sight.

But was this not the plan about 3-4 years ago! you would sign up as a re-seller with Hostgator and then you would sign up 15 prospects for about $600 a month.

Or are we talking a different plan?

As discrat said, it takes more than just throwing traffic at it. It is smarter to develop around the offer and add value to it - hopefully, an ability to continue to provide information and services to this earned traffic for future and recurring sales earnings.

Yes that is so important. I agree very much. Presenting an offer that is supported by great value is key. I am a noobie. about 2 weeks into this. Learning fast. This forum is a great resource and I happened to find some great products with tons of value. I am excited. I have several squeeze pages and auto responders and a few capture pages already. I don't think I have spent more than $50. Of course the traffic is only a trickle but, I am blogging all over the place too; its free and fits my budget right now. I just sent 2000 auto responders out for one of my gigs. its my signature today. I had a banner code for my other deal but, I think banners are not displayed as signatures, right?

Congrats you found something that works. Like Robert said, you should focus on turning it into a business. Focus solely on getting more targeted people in front of the opportunity and find ways to increase profits.

The prime mover of any internet business is "traffic". Surely there are lots of offers around where you can get eye watering commissions but how'd you get some sales out of it without traffic? The winner is always the one who got good amount of traffic.

Still, with an internet marketing background, I did traffic and lead generation for a hosting company and it was very competitive and pretty hard to get many sales, consistently. You getting a few sales per month is easy. but if a company expects you make 1500 sales per month, it's quite a different story.

The real secret to this is to extend your earning potential with addition sales that benefit the buyer and support the initial sale.

When I've helped others in this area we've done this:

Hosting: ipage pays $120 for WordPress hosting with domain name.

WordPress Theme (through mythemeshop) You can also offer the customer a discount. They've got some decent plugins as well

Graphics (graphicstock and kozzi) customer gets 7 day free trail.

    Autoresponder where needed.

You can extend your earnings to around $200 mark.

For traffic you can create an eBook or a kdp book. Go deep and specific with the book. So 'build a website for your soccer team' rather than just build a wordpress site.

Then show them exactly how to do it. Sell why you are using the hosting company, theme etc

Alternatively run a course through email or udemy.

What has been really successful is running workshops in community centres where you can 'build your first blog'.

10 people at the course can be $2000 in your pocket. Plus whatever upsells you can offer in addition.

Very good demand. Smart. If you want to be online you need hosting...

    Simple enough

I tell ya I have been doing digital products and cpa since I got started online over five years ago and I am just starting to play back with physical products and I'm amazed how much easier it can be. Noticed I said can be... once you find your sweet spot

Sorry, friend, but you are only half right.

The complete formula is Traffic + Conversion = Revenue.

Skip either one, and you are spinning your wheels.

Which is more important? We could argue that chicken/egg conundrum all day and never get anywhere.

right there must be conversions. I am seeing that with one product that promised high conversions. I get traffic to it but no converts. I have a couple of other gigs that I belive will convert better. I am not getting any more products to push tho. I have enough irons oin the fire.

That is the easy part on paper but the key is to give these people a step by step guide on how to effectively market online to get those customers.

Some gurus tell people where to market but never give them specifics like:

I spend $200 per day on pay per click campaigns and get 3-6 new sales every day. Here are the keywords I use and here are the ad titles I succeed with.

EXACTLY! Anybody can sit here and create a thread and say "Hey go promote this and make $$$ per sale. There you go folks now go make money."

If you really want to provide value to this forum and those who are reading this thread you should take a few minutes and write up a detailed outline describing exactly what you do to make sales. Now that's something that would be extremely useful.

It would be useful until several dozen to several hundred people all started using the exact same keywords and ad titles. Once that narrow scope was saturated, it wouldn't be long until the folks too lazy to go beyond those specifics start squawking "scam"...

It is indeed possible to make money with this but I am not really sure how newbie friendly it is. Yeah sure you don't need any particular skills to make it work but then again you just can't go around and spam the link without knowledge.

Well my suggestion is for people who want to try this is the following:
-Build a reputation on promotion, programing, seo, marketing, hosting forums and then share your link.
It might take you some time but when you start recommending hosts you will be trusted enough and people will buy it from your affiliate link.
