Could someone explain....

the differences in results i found.

I was playing around with keywords just to get the idea of filtering results and found differences i cannot explain.

I searched for a term on google search by keyword tool and got one set of results for monthly search, and then used the adwords tool for the same term and got a much bigger monthly search figure?

Why? How do i interpret the results?

Incidentally the term was (just used as i knew it would be popular) six pack abs

Well, each keyword tool will give you different results, some are more accurate than the others.

I tend to believe the adwords keyword tool estimations, because it is made by google, so logically, they should have the most accurate information.

The difference is in the algorithms used to compute averages by the two different services...

Adwords may prove to be more accurate since they are the largest search platform...

Also... if you are doing a broad phrase match search in adwords then it may also effect the size of the estimated results.
