Segment Email Campaigns...

If you have a list of subscribers but you have them opt into a segmented email campaign how serious is your segmented campaign to your main email campaign?

Do you just specify it to your giveaway (from your opt-in) and sell to your subs the more specified niche?

How long should this email campaign be, should you be using e-courses and how many products should you sell to the segmented list?

    Digital marketer does something similar.

    Basically you optin to a squeeze page and then you go through a sales funnel that offers products that are related. As you make your way through the funnel, each step they will send you a campaign for a certain product. The length of the campaign (how many emails) will likely be driven by the price of the product. No point in spending the same amount of time trying to get you to buy a $7 product VS $3K product. As long as you continue to buy, then they will continue to market another product to you.

    Obviously at some point the user will stop buying and the campaigns end. At this point they will move you to their broadcast list. Where they will send content emails, as well as promote different offers trying to get you to optin to receive more info on something else. After you optin, the process starts all over and once you fail to buy, then you go back to the broadcast list and it starts all over again.

  • Segmented lists can be used in many ways, and you can use them to split your subscribers in anyway you want to fit your business.

    However in general terms, most marketers will tend to segment their list in terms of what the subscriber has done to get on the list. So for example:

    - Someone who signs up for a free gift is put on the freebie list - this list will be offered free/low cost offers.

    - As soon as someone buys a low cost '1st level' product, they will either be removed from the freebies list and put on the level1 buyers list (if they were already a subscriber), or just added straight to the level1 buyers list. - the list will tend to get sent paid for offers, including some higher ticket.

    - If subscribers then buy higher ticket, they will be removed from any previous lists they were on and put on the 'high ticket list' - these subscribers are treated well and provided with higher ticker products and services.

    I appreciate this is somewhat simplified, but it gives an overall view of a common way of segmenting lists.
