Are there any Wordpress users that can help me?

Hi

I've installed Wordpress on my site and now want to add an aweber opt-in form (I've got the code) and an image of an ebook cover which I'll be giving away in return for their details.

The other think I want to do is add a book for sale with a link from the image to it's salespage.

Can anyone tell me how I go about doing it in simple, basic language that even a dummy can understand?

If you want to put the Awebr form in the sidebar, you need to find the sidebar file (usually sidebar.php) and put the code in there. Alternatively, you could put the code in a widget. You can also put it anywhere in the main body of the page by using the html mode.

I believe there is also a new plugin that allows you to add an opt-in formmore easily, for not only Aweber but other autoresponders too. I think it costsmoney to buy this plugin. I was looking at the site the other day but can't remember now what it's called.

      Nope, it's free

Made specifically for email aces, aweber and getresponse - but works with others too.

Creates a widget for the sidebar if you want to use it there... or allows you to put the code straight into a post or page.

      Karl Warren Presents... Wordpress Autoresponder

I've not updated the site recently... you do have to sign up to the list to get it - but I'm not marketing to the list and will be deleting it soon because I'm going to be marketing the plugin via a different angle.

So if you want it, get it while it's free - there is only one follow up message on the autoresponder and that's the link to the plugin.

Because of current commitments, I've not had time to write up instructions - but it has an intuitive admin panel and you can PM/email me if you get stuck.

It depends on where exactly you want to put the optin form. If you are wanting it at the top of the sidebar like most people do then you want to:

    1.) Go to Design
    2.) Click on Theme Editor
3.) On the right hand side under Templates you will see a link called sidebar.
4.) Put the code in that section.

BTW you can use the java form OR the html in this section of your blog. I like to use the java so you don't lose certain things the autoresponder builds into it.

Hope this helps...if you get stuck feel free to PM me. I'll help any way I can.
