What would be the best way to do this?

I have chosen 1 niche that I basically just want to dominate tons of keywords in it. (in the SERPs)

Then I get traffic and somehow I want to make money from it.

I DO NOT want to use someones elses site like an article directory.
I could do article marketing but I would need to use my own website.

Let's say the niche is Make Money Online.
Then I would start with very long tail keywords like "how to make money online very fast" and work my way up building hyperlinked backlinks with more short tail keywords.

Being the noob that I am I have no idea what I want to do.
What kind of website to make and all that.

Maybe JUST a sales page / opt in page. But with a lot of text on it so it will rank better. So then I always have the same page instead of building backlinks to different articles, ect.

If I would do that then I would probably hire someone to create a product for me. And all that crap, ehh I don't know. I might want to do affiliate marketing instead. But make it an opt-in page for free info first.

Ideas?
I'm really sorry, I'm just kinda brainstorming.
I've went from making articles, 1 for each keyword to wanting to make my own powerful site that will rank for all keywords. And maybe all keywords with the same page, or different pages on the same domain, like a blog maybe.
