How to monetise my blog.

Hi all, I've started a tech/gadgets blog mainly because it's what I'm interested in but it would be great if I could make a little bit of money from it. I've added some adsense ads but I'm a bit stuck for ideas on how else to monetise it. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks.

You have plenty of options to monetize a tech blog. AdSense would be the best one. You can try other advertising programs like buy sell ads, infolinks, media.net ads etc. Other than advertising you can come up with paid product reviews, paid posts etc. For more info check this url - http:// goo.gl/kTDFRf (Delete the space)

Use Youtube videos as traffic generation. You need traffic then you can think of clicks and sales.

Blog ads is a super company. There are many high tech / electronics gadgets blogs similar to yours. People get to set their own price. Also, you get to select what area you are in. Definitely, a lot of famous bloggers are on blog ads now. For me, updating my blogs is a pain. Yeah, we do not get a lot of joy. Getting paid is important as we have many expenses. Just remember to set an initial low price. This will get customers to order ad space. OK so after that, there is a lot of data and stats collected, so you can up your price.

If you want to make PENNIES, go ahead with Adsense

If you want to make REAL MONEY, get a newsletter going and sell YOUR OWN products.

    Why sell your own books?

#1 they are geared towards the needs of your ACTUAL site visitors
#2 they yield 100% revenue to you without you having to split it with an affiliate sponsor
#3 you have full control over QUALITY
#4 you can craft the products to maximize FUTURE SALES of MORE EXPENSIVE products

Build a list.... It gives you MORE CONTROL over your hard-earned traffic and BRAND.

Given your blogging and probably blogging about products that aren't yours then it would make sense to sign up for an affiliate program, maybe Amazon and promote big ticket items on your site. For example electronics is 4% commission on Amazon so if you write a review about a $10,000 Television or $50,000 video camera and one high roller visits your website you will be in for a nice little payday.

Adding to this I would be inclined to blog about error pricing, special deals and coupons to drive free traffic to your site which will lead to visitors reading your other blog posts. Be sure to add a facebook share popup with a discount code for a leading retailer to boost your social media presence for free too

    Good luck.

Amazon would be a good start for a tech blog because a lot of the products are available on there. After that, look into promoting private advertising and building up your list.

You could look at new Kickstarter projects and ask if they would like to purchase a guest post spot or ad spot.

I have earned over $20k+ till date from Adsense, but mostly from micro niche blogs. Am not much of a tech blog fan and haven't really worked on a tech blog so far.

However, that said - the same methods and tips can be applied to tech blogging too. For adsense, you need traffic - and most of it, say over 90% of the traffic should come from organic Google search. That is the best way to keep your account in good standing and keep earning decent money from adsense.

Keep a simple strategy that you can follow everyday. Add one new article everyday on your blog - preferably targeting a keyword. Do atleast one related Guest Post every week. And keep the consistency going.

This method alone will be enough for you to build a really strong adsense earning blog in a year's time from now on.

      thanks,
      Uttoran Sen,

You can try viglink or skimlink which suits best on tech blogs. They have quality advertisers over tech products.

You could become an Amazon affiliate and/or put up some Youtube videos and become a partner. You're videos would be doing double-duty. There are a number of people in the tech space that make a bunch of money just by being YT partners.

Yes, you could promote HOT selling products sold on Amazon, create 10-15 sites, and then promote each sites using affordable promotion services such as SEOLinkVine or RankCrew ...

    Hope this helps

It might be worth looking at your analytics to find out the sources of your traffic, and what that traffic is interested in (ie. the most popular posts) and maybe how long they're on your site before making a decision.

Like, if they're visiting a review on a particular product then an affiliate link to someone like Amazon might be cool...

If it's traffic bouncing the maybe they're not seeing what they want on your blog and a display ad might be better.

Don't know... just chucking that out there.

Although everyting is a test, eh.
