noob affiliate question on payouts

Hi all, please forgive me if this has been asked before, as I got confused by asking others for an answer on this question and got different answers. So I'm asking it here.

Question: When an affiliate sells a product on their squeeze page thru a hop link to one of these companies (clickbank, JVZoo, clicksure, Gumroad, Commission Junction, e-junkie, paydotcom, affiliate-wire, click2sell, payspree, shareasale, rapbank, clickbetter, or any others...) you get a commission payout but when?

For example. say you made $200 dollars today in commissions and it shows up on your earnings page for one of the companies above {note, I don't know the exact name you call these companies, throw me a bone if there is a term} is their a delay in being deposited into your checking account and if so, how long. If they are different delays for each business listed above give me some examples for each that you had a affiliate account with?

Does the number of days money back guarantee refund rule that these businesses have effect your real money being deposited into your checking account?

In your experience, if their is a delay for payout, does the 1099 you get from these companies record earnings on the day you got it or the day you got the money deposited into your checking account. I.e. such as a late December sell, early January deposit to your checking account.

Thank you for your time in sharing your affiliate experience on this topic.

Here are some details from Clickbank. Rules can vary depending on your affiliate company:

    Payment Method and Payment Frequency

ClickBank offers Direct Deposit, Wire and Checks as payment methods for clients to receive their funds. Accounts receiving direct deposit and wire payments (US or International) are eligible for once per week or once per two week payments. Check payments are available once every two weeks.

    Pay Period End Time

Pay period end times and payment send dates are dependent upon your selected Payment Frequency. For accounts receiving payments weekly, pay periods end at 12:00:00 a.m. Pacific time every Wednesday. For accounts receiving payments once every two weeks, pay periods end at 12:00:00 a.m. Pacific time every other Wednesday. Changes to your selected Payment Frequency will go into effect in accordance with the Payment Change Deadline.

Changing your Payment Frequency from once per week to once every two weeks (or vice-versa) may result in overlap between pay periods and the amount settled. Due to the overlap the first pay period on your new schedule could be longer or shorter than standard. In the case of overlap, ClickBank always settles your open sales since your last pay period ended.

    Payment Distribution

Payments are always sent on the Wednesday two weeks after period-end.

    Refunds and Chargebacks

One question you may have is whether you will still receive your affiliate commission if the product is returned or if the customer requests a chargeback on the purchase. Unfortunately, the answer is no. All money is returned to the customer, so the vendor and affiliate must return their portions of the sale as well.

Because of the 60-day return period for all ClickBank products, we utilize a return allowance to cover the possibility of returns.

    Hope that helps.

The rules for payout structure vary, depending on the affiliate network that you sign up with. For instance, if you get delayed payments on JVZoo (up to the individual vendor), you may have to wait until not only the refund period for the product is over but the time that a person can do a chargeback via Paypal (if they differ) before you actually get your payment. However, Clickbank works differently.

Follow-up question: if you have no sales yet on JVZoo and are approved with delayed payments, will that just delay the payment, or also the reporting of sales? I recently drove about 300 clicks to an offer on jvzoo through what I thought were fairly targeted solo ads and landing page, but I don't show a single sale. I am really hoping sales reporting is also delayed, but I figure that is naive and I am the unlucky fool that batted 0/300.

sales reports on JvZoo are not delayed it would be best to send them nest time through a squeeze page and then when they sign up you can redirect them to the JVzoo offer you are promoting. That way even if they do not buy the offer at least you have them on your list.

You can use that to build relationship and sales in the future.

It will also be nice to start your own thread and ask your question there, instead of hijacking that of someone else. Hope that was helpful

I did that, thankfully, so they are on my list. I was just surprised to go 0/300 on an offer converting 6% plus.

My apologies to everyone, especially the OP. I thought this question was related enough I would have been called out for not using the search function if I started my own thread. Perhaps I still would have...
