Best way to attract affiliates?

For anyone who wants to get started with product creation, attracting affiliates can be the difference between success and failure.

What are the best methods to attract affiliates to a new offer?
Scenario: Brand new product, website completed, no conversion stats, no list.

General or specific ideas, paid or free. All thoughts welcome!

I'd say the best way would be to have an attractive sales funnel, one that complements the commission rate your offering. This is why many marketers like to give 100% commissions on front end products, then only a 50% on everything else, the front end commission looks very attractive.

Partner with someone who has a list, launch experience, and a history of reciprocation (optional).

You need a JV page with all the information on it including the plan for creating scarcity/urgency with a sales page preview. The sales page needs to be clean and written in a somewhat professional way.

Have an optin box on the page so you can build a list of affiliates.

    Create an affiliate contest.

Offer 100% commission on the frontend product and have a deep funnel.

Place a FB custom audience pixel on the JV page and run ads on FB to those people.

A lot of this is dependent on the niche/sub-niche you are in and the type of product you are creating. if its software/Wordpress things are going to be a little versus infoproduct/training.

Definitely have to take an active approach instead of assuming affiliates will come to you. If you're new to game, you have to go out there and hustle. If you want to attract affiliates you have to find a way to stand out. You have to bring something to the table. Make your offer irresistible to affiliates.

Dress up your JV page, make sure your product is excellent, focus on building real relationships with affiliates instead of just annoying them with your desperate messages, and focus on giving to get. Ask yourself, what can I do for this person that would make him/her want to promote my product?

I want to thank everyone. So far you all have good advice.

I do understand about the offer, but first you must find them and get them to look at the offer.
So maybe if I re-phrase the question -
How does one find affiliates to present an offer to?
Is just listing an offer on JVZoo or creating a WSO enough to expose the offer to affiliates? Or is there a way to actively recruit affiliates?

Post in FB groups. Look for people who have done successful launches and get in contact with them. Look for people who always show up in the leaderboards for successful product launches.

The best way if you have some time is to promote other sellers' products that have been selling awhile and make some sales for them. Most of them have large subscriber lists, and if you get one or more of them to sign up as your affiliate, you can use their sales stats and names to recruit more affiliates with decent lists.

    Nobody mentioned a contest yet?

Competition is always a good way to get people involved. Not only do they get a chance to win some additional cash on top of there commisions, but they also get there name on a leaderboard which means kudos.

    1. Promote them first

    2. Drive traffic to test your offer, until it is optimized and you have a solid EPC. If you have no numbers try offering 100% to the first affiliates promoting. Another option is to guarantee an EPC for the affiliate.

    3. Go to networking events

    4. Be where affiliates are: if IM nice have your product on JVZoo, if other niches ClickBank or other relevant networks

    Get some.

You will attract much higher quality affiliates if you can show that the product converts.

Be smarter and more personal than everyone else.

    Here's what I mean...

The best luck I've ever had getting affiliates (totally not my game) was contacting people one on one.

Contact people, let them know you're a fan of their work, and that you'd love for them to review your content.

If they agree, then let them have a review copy.

Don't just "spam" your review copy, wait for people to ask for it.

If they like it... Then they may indeed inquire about becoming an affiliate.

Foot work + soft selling = works best in my experience. (I'm no guru launcher by any stretch, but I've been around the block).
