First Clickbank Sale

Hey Warriors,

I made my first Clickbank sale yesterday, and am so happy right now. Wanted to share it with you guys.

After trying for almost a year I finally did it. It took me so long because I didn't spent any money in marketing, only used free methods.

The product I sold was Affilojetpack and I made $355.18 commission. However I have to make 4 more sales to get my first payout. Clickbank holds payment until you make at least 5 sales with two different payment processors.

      I shared Affilorama's home page (with my affiliate link) on my blog, social media profiles, on other blog as guest posts.

      I didn't knew where the subscribers were coming from, so I kept sharing everywhere.

      As Affilorama is free to join, the conversion rate was pretty good. Then Affilorama promoted their products to the subscribers, with my affiliate link and I get paid for the sale they made. I love Affilorama

        Next time you share, make sure you add a tracking ID to the affiliate link for each source.

        So it would go something like this...

        yourID.vendor.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=blog
        yourID.vendor.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=facebook
        yourID.vendor.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=etc

        That way you can back track and see what's working

    Even with free methods that's a little concerning; to be honest

    Hopefully, you can continue with Sales coming in more regularly.

    One sale in a year? How many hops did it take and what is your EPC? You may very well be able to find something else that will bring you better results.

    It's great that you made a sale but you should analyze your results to be sure you are making the most possible from your traffic.

    Congratulations, but wow. I was not aware of this payment holding from Clickbank. That sorta sucks. I may have to rethink using them. If it took you a year to get that one, what if it takes you a year to get the next 4? That doesn't even seem like it should be legal!

    Now you need to meet your 5 sale minimum for payout. If you don't, you'll watch that commission slowly dwindle away as it gets eaten up in dormancy fees 6-12 months from now, or whatever their current timeline is.

    Not to be a downer, that's just how it works.

        It's a problem for abusers.

        One way around the threshold, should things go slowly and the deductions for inactivity become a problem, is to have friends/family buy inexpensive items with a variety of cards to meet the threshold while you reimburse them.

        Or, you could promote a very low priced offer long enough the satisfy CB.

            The dollar amount isn't important. You want at least four more different payment sources, with at least two different credit cards. In other words, 4 sales on a Visa @ $1 each, plus one sale on a Mastercard for $1 meets the requirement.

            Aside from that, you can set the threshold for how much has to be in your account before CB pays you. Some people, particularly outside the USA, opt for higher payment thresholds because bank fees take a chunk out of their payment. I've heard of people setting a $10 limit and paying $25 in bank fees, for net loss of $15.

            Keep in mind, the two issues are completely different.

    That is awesome news!

    If you have any money to spend (within the range of $100/month) you may want to look into buying ad space on websites within your niche to build yourself a list.

    Granted it's not free but if you can scrounge up 80-100 bucks a month on ad-spend specifically to build a list I think you might make those extra sales a lot quicker than you think.

    I would suggest taking a look at the website buysellads.com and have a browse there for decent deals on ad space. I'd personally look for monthly deals instead of CPM or anything of the sort. Might be hard to find one that doesn't have a waiting period in this niche but still worth a shot. Also don't jump into the 1st thing you see, dig a bit deeper and make sure the site is what it seems, you can run into scams just about anywhere and buysellads.com is no exception.

    This is actually how I got my start in the MMO niche... clickbank and mediabuys to build a list.
    This is only a suggestion however, something to maybe consider. There are a lot of ways to do this same thing

    Clickbank has a minimum payout of $25 (If I recall) to receive your payment. And although I haven't promoted Affilorama's products, I looked into Mark's programs, and never recall any mention of needing 'X' number of sales to receive your commission.

    You should get paid once the CB period ends (usually 2 weeks)... So, not sure the reason you mentioned needing 3 more sales???

      It's simple, really. Those are Clickbank's rules! He will also be charged a dormancy fee for not achieving those metrics. If he's not careful he can sit by and watch Clickbank chew up that entire commission over time.

        That is not correct.

        Dormancy relates to deductions applied to your account if you go 90 days without a sale.

        It has nothing to do with meeting the Customer Distribution Requirement ('5' sales) or the minimum payment threshold ($10)

      Min payout can be set by the affiliate and goes down to $10.00

      You will NOT get paid until you hit the CDR which is at least 5 sales (by 5 different people) and with at least 2 payment methods.

      After you meet this, you will start to get paid every period, until this however, you will not get paid.

      He doesn't just need five sales, he needs five sales using five different pay methods (some combination of different Visa, Mastercard, etc.)

      This rule came to be several years ago to combat fraud where "affiliates" would rack up a bunch of sales, all on the same credit card, then refund them once the commission was paid.

      Other "affiliates" were taking advantage of the fact that Clickbank will allow you to buy products using your own affiliate account for review purposes. Too many people were simply using the affiliate status to give themselves a 50-75% discount on personal purchases.

      The good news is that this requirement only has to be met once.

      Oh, and clicktutor? It appears our newly deflowered affiliate is already promoting an affiliate course in his sig. Either that, or the cloaked link is an affiliate link, which is against the rules of this forum.

    Congrats on your very first Click Bank sale maniarora. Hopefully the first of many more to come. I remember when I made my first online sale a long ways back and as you can imagine, I was super pumper and excited. It wasn't a CB sale however lol...that came a bit later but ya, good on you and whatever you're doing just keep doing it!
