Conflict, Explosive Content, And Sudden Traffic

Wow, I seem to have hit a nerve on facebook with one of the articles I shared. Normally I end up with around 200 people reached and about 4 or so visits to my website from links. But last night I shared a link which has already had a reach in the thousands and about 40 visits.

Here is what I have learned from this: The content goes against a common teaching in churches that the Bible doesn't actually teach and in fact it teaches against it. So right from the beginning there is conflict around it. Conflict generates passion and that creates a response.

Now...there are two ways to handle conflict. You can get in the middle of it and start fighting about it on facebook but this would draw the readers away from the post and to the comments.

OR you can simply let people vent about how bad it is, throw in a few lines to clear up any misconceptions they have about what you are saying and then let people get curious as to why everyone is yelling at you lol.

That leads them to your website where they can make their own mind up instead of being a mindless follower of the crowd. Which generates traffic and a following.

I think this is the best way to handle conflict with your audience.

It escapes me who first said it . . . but it's true:

"There is no such thing as bad publicity!"

Said another way, anytime someone talks about you it's a good thing.
