I've seen that you can make money solving capchas online. We've all seen them. You enter the words or numbers you see. Apparently some companies don't want to be bothered with it and are willing to hire people to solve them for them. Has anyone had any experience or know anything about this? The pay doesn't seem to be that good but I'm not sure. Does anyone think this is worth the time? I think you have to do a lot and I'm not sure it's worth it. Any thoughts or opinions on this?

Many captcha solving applications are backed by low paid workers in 3rd world countries.

When you encounter a captcha, the software sends it to one of these solvers. They solve the captcha and the results are sent back to your software which sends it to your browser to solve the captcha.

I doubt there is any money in becoming a captcha solver but if you have a software/service backed by very low wage drones you can make money on the volume.

If it takes 20 seconds to solve a captcha that's 3/minute or 180/hour. If you are paying someone $1/hour then you are paying them less than a 1/2 penny per captcha solved.

I have a better idea. Make it a competition. He who solves the most captchas wins the prize. It doesn't have to be monetary award. Just issue them the title of "The best captcha solver of the month."

Believe me there are thousands of people willing to participate. The evidence is this forum and other websites. Give them some virtual carrot to strive for .. 1000 thanks, 500 likes, 100 points.

This probably isn't going to help you much and honestly, how many captchas could you fill in before you got bored?

Imagine if I asked you to sit at a computer and fill in 1000 captchas. Then the next day, you sat down and did it again. Then again, and again and again.

You're here on an Internet marketing forum, take hold of your potential and aim higher.

Here's a tip to maximize earnings per hour in any line of business: find something of value that you can do that nobody else, or very few others, can do.

Solving captchas is something anyone who knows the english letters and alphabet can do. And they can do it from anywhere. Maybe like 4 billion people could do this job. This means the least possible earnings per hour.

If you are paying someone $1/hour
I've had people on this forum offer to be my "VA" for as little as $1.50 for eight hours.

Solving captchas is something anyone who knows the english letters and alphabet can do
The captchas I use require you know addition, subtraction, multiplication or division, so not just any dummy can do it.

I did knock captcha for some companies, my advice is that you do not lose your time on the job, the amount you receive is not enough for you to check your eyes. rather than spend time typing captcha, you should use that time to learn about how to make money on utility network shared a lot on the warrior forum.

I use a CAPTCHA solving service. They charge me $1.30 per 1000 CAPTCHAS solved. If you want to compete in that market, you'll have to find a way to do it by charging no more than that.

I don't see that as a potentially profitable business, but if you know of a way to do it, I wish you luck.

BTW - A piece of software that I purchased for $125 solves half of my CAPTCHAS, and I pay nothing for those that it solves. You'll have a hard time beating that price.

I think you misunderstand. It's not about me charging but instead getting paid to solve captchas.

No, they understood you. Their point was that if that's what a company is charging their clients, the rate you earn would be far lower.

It actually gets much worse. These statistics (from one of these firms) show that they're getting around US$0.60 per thousand, and that it takes about ten seconds to solve each, on average. (Yes, yes, numbers fluctuate, but this is for the back-of-the-envelope calculations.) Elsewhere on their site, they say that each CAPTCHA is done redundantly, so let's just say that they pay three people to do each one. That's US$0.20 per person, and let's assume that they split the money 50/50, so a dime of actual pay per thousand.

OK, divide by a thousand, and you get a hundredth of a penny per CAPTCHA. If you really could keep it up for an hour with no break, that's US$0.0001 times six (per minute) times 60 = US$0.036 per hour. Less than four cents an hour, and maybe US$6 per month!

      What software is that?

I'm about to start looking into developing OCR for Captcha.

Gosh, having to click a captcha every time I send out an email add through a safelist is tedious and definitely worth looking into a work around...if that's even possible. Will definitely be noting the work around suggestions in this thread for later. Thank-you everyone!

This is a laughable income model. You're better of playing the lottery. You might make your money back right away on a scratch off, and then can go and buy a Mountain Dew. The 2 liter bottle too.

I'm kinda confused here about this whole capcha solving thing. Is the point to get get around the capcha barrier to send mass messages and emails? The entire point of capchas is to prevent that because otherwise blog comment sections and stuff get hit with so much spam it's a pain in the ass to moderate. This seems like a pretty shady, black hat scheme to me. There are a lot of other ways to make money that are much more ethical.
