How do you get a lot of views on your Youtube videos?

And does having a lot of views on your videos have any benefit? Like will Youtube rank your video higher up when people search your keyword if you have a lot of views, or does Youtube rank the videos based up the upload date?

If it is an awesome video post the link on Twitter, Facebook. Post it on your blog. Send the link to your email list. If it is good people will share it.

There are many ways. I would try Reddit if you are looking for some fast views. As long as you don't post self-promoting links too much in a sub-reddit, it's a great source of traffic.

For example, there have been many, many times where I'd post a link to a targeted sub-reddit and I'd get 1000 unique visitors a day for about 1-4 days. The traffic usually dies off after that, but, especially for youtube, it can help get you views and subscribers.

A good thing about Youtube is once your video starts getting views and comments, it'll naturally get put higher in youtube's search engine and their 'related videos' section, thus increasing your views hands-free.

If you have a blog, that would also be a good source of views. If your blog is ranked nicely in Google, you can even get some consistent traffic my editing your old content with your videos.

Ok, so it sounds like it would be better to have a facebook page, twitter page, and maybe even reddit page (whatever that is), and even a growing email list first before doing any Youtube Videos.

You can pump views to it using Fiverr but this isn't 100% legit.

If you want legit eyes on your video, then make sure the video is properly optimized for a keyword. Email your list about it. Send backlinks to it.

Most of the time, I post my youtube link on my Social Media sites. There are many social media sites available. One can use any site. I think it is one of the best way to increase your videos view.beside this, you have to write an easy & common Name, description & tag. Then you will get huge views on your youtube videos. Best of luck.

HINT: Youtube is now considering ranking purposes on videos that have a good watch reach. This means Youtube is taking in consideration on videos that when people watch a video to the end - that is a massive sign to Youtube that a video is of high quality. On page and off page optimization is still important!

I've just come off some training about video marketing, a lot of people over complicated things but it's simple steps done well.

Keyword search , create content for that keywords , then publish it.

One of main key is how you word your title , loads of people go after the top words but get no results.Send me a PM and i can talk more and send you in right direction .

You gotta market it the right way. You have some options:

    - Advertise above the video lists
    - Promote them to your email list
    - Base your entire business around it
    - Buy some raunchy service that will give you 300 clicks to your video
    - Video responses
    - Free and paid marketing outside of Youtube
    - etc .... i can go on and on

Yes more views generally will yield higher ranking on YouTube and Google. Yes purchasing views works wonders for rankings, however do it at your own risk. If you find the right seller then you are golden. It's pretty easy to rank YouTube vids but they don't always give u a return.

Views play a very important role in ranking videos. But not just any type of view. The views have to be quality views. They have to have retention. For example, a video with a thousand hits but everyone who viewed the video left in 2 seconds is going to lose to a video with a hundred hits but everyone who viewed the video watched more than half of it.

A way to get more views is to either properly optimize your video, or pay for retention views from a service.

firstly get a very catchy and perfect title, description and tags. promote it crazily on twitter and facebook group, if possible get faceook autoposter, you can get on fiverr, join as many IM group and blast. set your timing like 200 seconds interval so facebk wont jail you. you'll be amazed at the turn out.
lastly, do annotation across video. consult uncle google for more detail on that because i cant start explain how here.
    hope this helps

How do you get a lot of views on your Youtube videos?
    It's simple, really.

#1 - Create some good content. Note: this is where most people fail miserably.

    #2 - Optimize for Youtube's search engine!

Promoting a traffic generation platform, to me, is ridiculous. You post videos on YT in order to get free views from YT's organic traffic.

If you are going to "promote" your video, then post it on your own site and drive traffic there.

      Any specific advice for this?

Also, it helps to time when you publish your videos in accordance with your target audience. For example if you know that most of your subscribers are high schoolers in California you can publish your videos around 3pm-4pm Pacific time, when the kids are done school and more likely to hop on YouTube. A video that appears fresh in a viewer's Subscribed list is more likely to be viewed than something several hours old.

I have more than 500.000 views on my videos on Youtube. Give people what they are looking for. Do not create videos for yourself.

BTW... Adsense pays 3, 5 cents per click. Don't expect to get rich because you had a lot of views.

The system works to send money to the pockets of the billionaires that own Google and Facebook etc. It's a funnel. Most of the small guys will get "pennies".

To make money you have to create unique products that have good demand. That's where the profits are. Be unique and have a good product.

And use a good keyword tool.

If you can't get your videos to rank no matter what you do, you can look into YouTube's pay per click advertising option. Sure you are going to pay for "clicks" on your video, but it can be profitable for you.

There are some courses online that also shows you how to rank your videos high on YouTube and Google. I think that if you get one or some of these courses, they should help you out. Then it will be a matter of putting the time and effort (and patience) to see results.

Reddit is amazing for Youtube views. Though I suggest participating in related posts first. If you're viewed as a spammer they (other Reddit members) will not be very nice.

Though content is king.. If you create a video that is better than all other videos you will get views. I posted a video for something health-related I was going through with original information/advice I'd learned from my doctor/my observations and what I did to cure it. The video is now the #1 video on that search result. It's because the content is madly original and informative and others are desperately seeking help.

Views don't mean a lot as far as ranking as I've outranked videos with thousands of views. More important is viewer retention, comments and to a lesser-degree, likes.

How to get 1 Million people to watch your videos and only...they watch at least HALF of the video!
Yes that's right, you ONLY pay if they watch over HALF of the video.

    So what does this mean?

Well, in simple terms it means if your video is convincing and keeps the viewer watching then you are only going to be paying for visitors who are VERY interested in what you have to offer

Which means your conversions will go through the roof!

Depending on your niche, you might want to reverse engineer videos that have already gone viral.

One way to do this on Twitter is to use Topsy.com I'm not sure if there's a tool that does the same with Facebook groups/pages.

    Part 1.

Name your video file accurately. If it's about a lizard, then the word "lizard" should be in the file name of the video. You can name it "scary-lizard.mov."

Give your video an appealing title. It should be short, engaging, and to the point. If your video is about your kid spilling macaroni and cheese everywhere, just call it "Mac and Cheese Disaster." It should pique your viewers' interests without giving too much away.

Describe your video thoroughly. Most people ignore this step, but you should take it seriously to increase your views. Describe your video as accurately as possible in the space you are given, taking 2-3 paragraphs to write an interesting and precise description of what people can expect when they see the video.

Use the best tags. Use all of the keywords from your title and description in the "tags" section to get more viewers interested. The more relevant tags you use, the more often your video will pop up when people search it. For example, if you're posting a video of your cute sleepy dog, you could use words like "Sleepy," "Dog," "Hilarious," and "Cutest." Make sure you don't include extra tags in the description, as those are not included when people search for them.

(You can use tags that describe your video as well as other relevant popular videos to make sure that as many people as possible see your video when they are searching YouTube.)

    Part 2.

Share your video with as many people as you can as soon as you post it. The earlier you share it, the more likely it will be to be a YouTube sensation. If you wait a week to share it while it barely gets any views, it'll be much more likely to be forgotten by the YouTube community. Remember, timing is everything. Think of when your audience is likely to watch your video and release right before then (evenings and weekends are a good suggestion).

Email your video to your friends, family, and coworkers. Create an email list consisting of the people who know you well enough to be actually intrigued by your new YouTube video, and send them the link and encourage them to watch it. You can even add, "I can't wait to hear what you think!" to show that you really expect them to watch your video. If you don't care about potentially annoying people, just send it out to as many people as you can.

(If you have an intriguing subject and a persuasive email, there's a good chance anyone will look at the video without even knowing you very well.)

Share your video through social media. Post your video on Facebook, Twitter, and any other social networking sites that you've joined.

Use a blog or a website to promote your videos. If you have a blog or a website, you can use it to market your videos. If you don't have a blog or website of your own but know friends with websites or blogs that are popular, ask your friends if they can help you out by sharing your video with their fans.

    Part 3.

Take out white space. Create your video, then go into an editor and remove the long pauses, and other distractions in the video. If the video paces faster, people will continue to watch.

Add music to your Video. A good audio track can spruce up the video and disguise any audio problems you may have had.

Include text information - an email address, website, twitter handle and more. Some people may not be watching this video on YouTube. You want them to know who you are in those cases. Text can also keep or direct attention on-screen. Use it to your advantage.

Create credits (maybe some bloopers). Put something at the end of your videos to point where they can find you. Add some bloopers or extra footage. People love to see the extras at the end and your watch time might increase.

    Part 4.

Use annotations. Annotations are an amazing way to increase your video views. They can link one video to another, or they can link a video to your playlists or channels. An annotation can tell viewers to link to a different similar video if they like the one they're watching, and can keep them viewing all of your different videos for hours.

Get subscribers. Getting subscribers is an excellent way of guaranteeing that more viewers will watch your videos. If someone subscribes to you, then they will see all of your newly-uploaded videos on their homepage, and they can even select to be notified via email whenever you've posted a new video. If you want to get more subscribers, you can ask people to subscribe at the end of a video, include an annotation that encourages people to subscribe to your video, or even ask people to subscribe to you over email.

Ask viewers to 'Like' or 'Share' the video. At the end or anytime during the video, ask the viewers to like it or share it by mentioning things like 'it would take 0.12 second to hit that like button'. Its because most of the time, even after people like the video, they don't notice it.

Comment a lot. Make sure to be nice. Some people might click on the commenter's channel to check out their videos.

    Part 5.

    Use paid advertising (e.x. facebook)

Viral videos is a hit or a miss but I have been sucessful and this is my advice.

Connect or associate with a social trend that people already follow.

What is the strengths or size of that trend in relation to the target market your trying to hit.

Make content that is reverent at that particular time. Hence "ice bucket challenge."

Acknowledge that trends can die off quickly so if the wave is big ride it before you miss it otherwise you missed the wave and any chance you had at catching it while its hot.

Building the audience is key in helping to push out the message further. Let your audience do the work for you by spreading the message. Measure your success reach. For example you put out a video you get 25 shares. That share reaches to news postings and more shares hopefully that 25 shares turns to 100k shares.

Don't obsess over the last success. Once its out its out don't raise the dead it makes you the content creator look bad and desperate.

More fresh content leads higher growth in audience loyalty. The bigger the ACTIVE audience following you have the bigger the wave will be.

Remember that making viral content works best when you barrow trends to make new and original content.

Look for gaps in content and tie them to current trends.

that should be a good start

I've been creating videos since YouTube began and some now get 100,000 views plus.
It's pretty simple - create videos which deliver value.
Optimise the title, tags, filename, thumbnail and description.
Your thumbnail is the most important part of optimisation.
    Create a channel.
    Contribute in the community.
Avoid social media unless you have developed a brand & community of interested followers.
    YouTube is a waiting game.
Some videos may only catch fire after a year or so of being there.
Don't go buying views, likes or comments - you only risk having your video or channel removed.
Also make use of the other popular videos sites out there.

Name your video file with relevant keywords before you upload to YouTube. For example: if it is your latest cover of “Rihanna – Diamonds” then the obvious name for the video file is rihanna-diamonds.mov

With any content, the number of views is less important than the quality of those views. I actually watch my time watched metric now more than I watch the number of views.

How do you get targeted, quality traffic...

    - Build social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc...) via engagement so that people actually see what you post - then you can drive them back to your video content on YoutTube
    - Build mailing list - I have 10,000+ people on each of my lists that are interested in a given topic/objective - they are quite responsive whenever I put new videos up
    - Develop lots of quality content - it won't work if you put up one video a month, ideally you are putting videos up minimum 3-4 times a week with content that followers care about
    - I embed my Youtube videos into my blogs and then constantly drive traffic to my blog where the objective is to either pull them into social or get them to subscribe to email list
    - Optimize your videos and they will get some good organic pull eventually as well

There are a lot of factors for ranking youtube videos: subscribers, likes, comments, views, backlinks and your on page optimization. Views are only one part of the equation. It does help to have tons of views but buying views is never a good thing. You can get your acct shut down.

For likes, comments and subs, it's always best to keep these things organic. Just focus on getting backlinks. Even if you're not ranking, you'll still appear on the related videos tab. Everything will organically grow in time. However, obviously uploading a video with the sole purpose of ranking it as high as you can is always the best and most effective ways to get things done.

YouTube SEO is very powerful if you know how to use it well. This is actually my main traffic source. As long as you play by the rules and know how to use your YT vids as a bridge to your capture page, you'll be getting tons of organic traffic which means high quality leads!
