My first attempt - Step by Step. Can you please double check?

Hi All,

Newbie here. I have reading and researching on Affiliate marketing for a while. This are the steps I came up for starting out. Can you please take a look and let me know if I am missing a step or two or ten?

1. Select a product in Clickbank or similar.
Get the Product link with my affiliate ID. (I think this is called the HOP LINK)
2. Create an autoresponder in getResponse.
3. Look at the Product Page in step 1 and create a page similar to that or a page with that product details in Leadpages. Add the Hop link from Step 1.
4. Create a squeeze page in LeadPages to capture emails.
5. Create ad campaigns to generate traffic to the LeadPages in step 3. (google ad services, Bing ads)

So from the potential customer's view, he will look at the ad, click on the link that points to the page I created in step 3. When he goes there my squeeze page from step 4 pops up. He enters the email, read through the details on my page and clicks on the hop link to the final product in step 1. Goes there and buy the product.

Q1. Does this look complete?

Q2. There is another question. I read a lot about tracking. Should I create tracking for any steps in this flow? Doesn't click bank track the users from my link, doesn't bing track the clicks on my ads and show it to me in a report? so why do the marketers talk about having additional tracking?

Thanks for your time..

Regards,
RM

Before you go out and spend any money on advertising or on building your business... I would first get more information on how to go about it and have a solid understanding to the questions you are asking.

I could give you answers but there are already a multitude of great responses, tips and techniques here on the WF, and they are all for free.

Spend time reading via the WF, and also join the war room, it's a great investment.

When you feel that all of your questions have a clear answer, and answered by yourself and not from someone else, then you'll be closer at activating an affiliated based business.

    Good luck.

To be honest with you, it is very generic.

Focus on the MEAT of what you're trying to say.

Focus on providing details on the following:

    1) Boosting conversions with your landing page

    2) Driving traffic

    3) Making your updates convert

let's make it so much EASIER :
    1- landing page.
2- thank you page SAYING the prospect will be redirected to a related offer.
3- auto redirect html code with your aff link in the previous mentioned thank you page.

here, why making it so much hard ?

Let me simplify this for you in an equation:

    Traffic+Conversions=Sales.

That's how "easy" it is. Most people can follow those steps and still fail at the variables of the equation.

You need to learn where your target market is and how you can reach them, what keywords they are searching for and what websites they visit.

And then you need to tweak everything until you get optimal conversions, test, test and then test again.

Everyone can follow a step-by-step system but many forget that one simple equation.

    Just my two cents.

    Good luck to you!

    Cheers
    Dan

Q1 - No, it's not complete. It sounds backwards.

Rather than picking a product and hunting for a market, turn that around. Find a market with a serious desire and a record of spending money on that desire.

Next, figure out if you can reach that market effectively.

Now you go looking for a product to address that desire.

Q2 - The metrics you need, Clickbank does not share. At least not with affiliates.

I think John makes a great point. And that is newbies ( and I did too at one time lol) will just start off by going to CB and looking for Products that they THINK would be profitable and try to promote it.

Like he says look at your own self . Your abilities. passions, expertise and start researching to see if if your knowledge could potentially help people who are having a problem that needs solving.

And if so then do the research for Products to possibly promote.

Its not Brain Science or Rocket Surgery

        Hi All,

Thanks for the responses. Sorry, I should have been clearer. Since I wanted you to spend as little time as possible reading my post, I wrote the as minimum as possible. Guess that did not work out.

I will write what I already figured out:
        ========================================

        1. My passion.

I do have a niche I want to target my audience at.

I am in IT - Programmer/Deployment/IT services. There is very close to zero products you can sell with affiliate marketing in that domain. Most of the IT things are free - Programming languages, OS, etc. We buy services such as ones used to for Internet marketing. I am not planning to build one in near future.

My other passion is Health and fitness. I am 35, have 3 kids, lead a busy life and try to manage a healthy life style. I don't have a six pack. But I eat clean and workout regularly. So, I can relate to most of North American middle aged people in regards to health and fitness. I genuinely like to (and already do) motivate and educate others in this domain.

        i. I don't have a blog. I have been writing articles and jotting down points to write articles on my laptop. I will publish a blog with those articles when I am ready. (I know Internet Marketing is a very rich domain. but it is not something I am passionate about though I like to use it to make money. So I won't be sellig those products.).
ii. I am in progress of writing a mini book that I can send to the people who sign up through my squeeze page. I will finish that book before I launch my campaign.

        2. What do I know?

        a - Generating traffic.

A lot of you suggested about it.
I know I have to generate traffic. I didn't ask something like "How do i generate high convertable traffic?" as I felt it sounds lazy. I figured I will have to test different methods, (in those methods) different lead page designs, etc to figure out what would work for my campaign. No one can find that out for me. Am I right?

        i. I know how to create Ads in Bing, Facebook, Plenty of Fish.
ii. I know I should buy solo ads - I need to create email template with link to my landing page.
iii. I know I will have to create a squeeze page on my landing page, so I will get opt ins before users buy the product I am promoting. This should gradually build my list.

        b. Tehcnical Ability.
I have read through and watched videos on Leadpages and getresponse.

The thing I wanted to know was, was I missing a step in the standard methodology. What I am afraid of is missing a step that could have saved or helped me.
For e.g. let's say I have had methods to generate traffic and send it to my click bank hop link, and I made a million bucks. But if I tell you that, you would tell me that I have missed an opportunity to gather those buyer's emails by having my own landing page and a squeeze page.

Now that you know more about myself, do you all have different answers?

        Thanks again for your time!!

John is right on the money.. find the pain .. then find the pain killer. So you find a crowd that is spending money on fixing their problem and provide a better solution. That is it. The rest you can find any where on the web.

And yes you need to track everything. Test everything with different styles.

Take care and good luck. Look me up if you need some help.

So, the 1st step to determine what kind of affiliate products to market is by checking out the marketplace at clickbank?

    Hi
I wish that the process was as easy as you mentioned.... every newbie comes in thinking that this is the way forward but to be totally honest you will get burnt out very quickly....

If you believe this will work then my friend no one is stopping you from trying and wish you good luck...
What i have learnt is people buy from you as a person and not the products that randomly pops up....

The best way forward is to build a relationship with your optins (list)

Offer something free for them to optin and create a bridge page where you stand there welcoming them and telling them who you are and here is your free product in your email....

The bridge page is there so they know who you are and when they see your emails you will have a high open rate...

Give them massive free ton of value, that could be valuable info or training videos in your niche
make them like you and trust you...

keep communicating on a daily basis and once you feel the connection and feel you have done enough, then you go to promote your first valuable product....

One big advice is to promote a product that you have used or tested your self and believe that this will give value to your list....

There is more deeper info then that but basic are these and try get more info from other expert and best thing is keep testing and tweaking and always try be ahead of your game. If someone is not buying then there must be something missing.. May be the value you give may be not good enough or maybe the product is something they come across many times before...

Good luck my friend and wish you best of luck... and you can find valuable answers in this warrior forum so before asking any question see if you can find the answer first....

Great. Thanks a lot. I do search and check for answers. Never came across a list of steps for initial process setup.

You might want to use a blog and a tracker like prettylink or click magic. also do you have a number of possible products closely related to sell? Are you using clickbait type text to make them hit the affiliate url?

I eyed only one product. Do you think I should be promoting more than 1 products in parrallel?

I don't have the text ready for text ad. I will come up with something. I only have half written ebook for free offer for optins

    Hey Rainmaker79,

Here's the formula I use as well as many others.

It's definitely not the only one, but it's one that works well for me and others so I just keep repeating it

Anyways, with that being said here's my launch formula I use

    -Find a niche

-Create a free offer to entice people to subscribe to your list

-Create a squeeze page promoting your free offer when they opt-in

-Promote your squeeze page with solo ads & forum marketing.

-Send them valuable content daily or every other day about your niche (don't promote anything)

-Once you built a sizable list create social media pages for your niche and promote the pages to your list (This takes them from just a list you have to a community that can connect with each other under your umbrella)

-Ask them what problems they are having about your niche

-Think of a way to solve that problem & the platform you'll use (service, online product, physical product, etc.)

-Create that product and let your followers know it's coming out soon!

-Launch your product! Once it's built let them know it'll be coming out in 2 weeks, then let them know it'll be coming out in 1 week, Then let them know it's coming out tomorrow, And finally let them know when it's released!

Hope this was of some value to you

    Hi All,

I know this has nothing to do this with this thread but I need to ask. How do I thank people in this forum. I mean, I see post that says "user1 thanked this post" or similar. I don't see a thank button.

I did search "how to thank", "thank" to see if there is a thread on this before asking this?
